Sometimes it's hard to know what to do with our difficult thoughts and feelings and this is when counselling can help. I'm an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist working with couples, adults, young people and children. In a safe and confidential space, both EMDR therapy and counselling offer you the chance to feel accepted and understood. Feeling supported to think and talk about what is going on for you is the first step to being able to move forward. Counselling means that you do not have to work it all out on your own. I will be there to support, guide and help you.

Everyone should have an opportunity to have therapy. Life is full of ups and downs and the idea of having someone by your side, helping you to navigate rough waters is very comforting and enriching. I offer psychotherapy (long term) and counselling (short term) by using an Integrative Holistic Approach. My approach recognises that your mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health are interconnected. I use techniques based on each individuals needs and my intuition is my main tool. Main issues that I work with: anxiety, abuse (psychological, sexual and physical), depression, complex traumas, EUPD, neurodiversity.

Livewell-therapy comes from the belief that we all have the potential to grow, to move forward at a pace that is unique to us.Sometimes, however, the path that we are on becomes bumpy and rough, and we find ourselves facing challenges, loss, feelings of uncertainty or a sense of being stuck. Counselling can be a hard and challenging process, it can also be a transformative and fundamentally liberating experience. I have successfully supported individuals through a variety of concerns including relationship/family/work, anxiety, depression, addictions, loss and bereavement. I have a background of EMDR and Rewind for trauma and PTSD.

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist. I like to create a safe and supportive space where I work collaboratively with my clients at their pace. There’s no agenda or assumption on what you decide to talk about. You can choose to come on an open-ended basis, or maybe you'd like to discuss a specific issue and attend until you feel you have resolved it.

With many years' experience in care and counselling settings, I have come to recognise that we can change profoundly through the therapeutic process. As I understand it, we are ever shifting throughout the lifecourse, yet are sometimes frustrated by repeating moments of stuckness. As a BPC-accredited psychotherapist, with a PhD exploring relational fields in care through a psychoanalytic lens, our work would involve developing awareness of both those internal and external obstacles to discover greater freedoms in life. My specialism is in palliative psychotherapy, supporting people with chronic illness, deep grief and loss.

Valuing the importance of a therapeutic relationship, I base my relationships with clients on trust and partnership. Drawing on extensive experience I aim to provide a safe and non- judgmental environment where you the client feels acknowledged, listened to and supported. As we are all unique no one type of therapy 'fits' all and I therefore integrate the therapeutic models in which I have been trained to meet your particular individual needs.

A confidential, non-judgmental space where you can explore positive and challenging aspects of your life and any change you wish to explore or make. I have personal experience in sexual, physical, emotional and mental abuse; divorce; living with a Narcissist; step-parenting and living in an Ex-pat community. The approaches I predominantly use are Solution Focused, Bowenian Systemic approach, Brainspotting or Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP). All approaches work with clients, though I have found 'Walk and Talk' or EFP best for adolescents or those suffering with PTSD or Trauma, along with Brainspotting.

Therapy can be different things to different people; it can be about focusing on changing a specific behaviour, learning to manage emotions or wanting a space to explore experiences, get understanding and make meaning. It can be all of these things or something completely different. My strength is in the less directive, exploration work; helping clients to understand their world and why they feel, think, behave the ways that they do. With this insight, I can help you to find ways to change old patterns and move forwards in a direction towards the life you want to live.

Female Counsellors
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
