There are times in our lives when our ability to cope alone is significantly diminished. You may be there right now. Perhaps negative experiences from the past, or significant life changing experiences have altered the way you think, feel, or behave. You want to move forward, but just can't seem to break the cycle of shame, guilt and fear? You may be unsure who you can trust? My personal experience and faith in God's transforming power fuels my passion to come alongside the hurting, wounded, confused, lonely and voiceless as I witness broken lives being restored.

Hello, and welcome to my profile. Being an experienced counsellor of 15 years, I can support you to heal and grow. Counselling is not just about the 'problem', but also about your self awareness, your personal self development and strengthening your ability to cope when times are tough. Anxiety, depression, addictions, relationships challenges, low self esteem, intrusive thoughts, overthinking, to name but a few, are all reactions of your own life experiences from a young age. Counselling explores this, and as a professional Integrative Therapist, together, we can work towards healing old wounds. Encouraging life in presence.

I enjoy working with individuals, couples and family estrangements, particularly with relationship and communication breakdowns. I also have clients who identify as dual heritage and wish to explore 'who am I?' in their cultural context through their experience. I also have a fondness for helping parents better connect with their children. This includes small children (3-9yrs) and adolescent children, but includes any relationship breakdown. I also support clients who have been traumatised and for those who are happy to engage, set personal development homework, so clients can witness their own progress.

People seek therapy when they are dissatisfied or unhappy and feel that it is possible to make changes but this is very difficult alone. Psychotherapy is a particular type of conversation exploring thoughts, feelings and relationships. Psychotherapy offers the opportunity to think about what is troubling in a safe setting to understand and improve relationships, both with ourselves and others. My thinking and approach places relationships at the heart of experience. When patterns in relationships can be understood we can feel liberated to change.

Hi, my name is Laura and I started my practice in 2014. My passion is helping people who suffer with depression and anxiety, having personal experience with both. I enjoy finding new and creative ways of helping people to find their happiness and be at one with themselves. We are all different and as such all need a different approach, we are not broken and certainly do not need fixing. We can all at some point need someone to talk to about an imbalance in our lives and by using various techniques proven to be effective you will be able to find that balance and achieve the life you want to live not only now but also in the future.

I work with individuals, couples and families that need to face a trauma, a loss, problems of anxiety, depression, fears or relational problems (such as couple conflict, emotional or behavioral problem in a child, alimentary disorder, relational closure in an adolescent). Working together will help everyone finding new energy to change and when everyone is involved in a transformation, it will be stronger and lasting. As an Italian psychotherapist I work in Italian and in English with the foreign community in UK. Sharing the experience of migration always helps to face a new life in a different country.

Midlife can be a challenging time, where lots of pressure points converge, be it parenting teens (or adjusting to an empty nest), looking after older parents, negotiating menopause (yours or a significant other's) or just feeling like you're not where you want to be in your career. It's easy to get lost in other people's needs. But it's important to retain our sense of self, and not lose sight of our own goals and aspirations.

Female Counsellors
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
