I am an experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor. I offer a confidential and safe space where we can think about what is troubling you in a non-judgemental setting. People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons. Life can throw upsetting things at us and sometimes we find ourselves affected by events more than we expect. Psychodynamic therapy provides an opportunity to discover the unconscious processes that drive our responses and behaviours. Once these processes are acknowledged, we have the choice of changing how we react. This can help us to feel better about ourselves and live a more fulfilling life.

How do I work? I provide an open, non-judgemental space for you, either as an individual or as a couple, to explore and make sense of your issues, to help you move forward in life to the place you want to be. There are roughly three stages: Stage 1: Explore the problem in an empathetic, non-judgemental environment. Stage 2: Clarify the key patterns and themes and make sense of some of the contradictions; put it all into context and gain insight into yourself and your life, and how and why the same problems keep coming up. Stage 3: Use this insight to start moving towards a richer, more pleasurable life.

I am Relate trained specialising in Relationship and Sex Therapy. In order to keep our relationships healthy we need to attend to them to ensure they remain respectful, trusting, sexual and happy. Because of the busyness of day to day life, we can easily disconnect from our partners without realising it leading to a lack of communication, conflict, affairs, and dissatisfaction. When married, or when children are involved, these problems become even more complex. It might even be that since the country's lockdown, you are now realising there are issues in your relationship. Now could be a good time to resolve these.

Choosing a counsellor is an important step. I offer a free 15-minute chat to support you in this process. Whether you are going through a crisis in your life or experiencing a difficult emotional time, speaking to a counsellor can be life-changing. Are you anxious about your relationship? It can be very daunting and even feel shameful or disloyal to approach a therapist about personal problems in your relationship or the fact that you aren't in one or find it hard to sustain one. We seek help for other concerns why not with relationship problems? Therapists, like carpenters have tools to offer that can help you make repairs. Speaking about your concerns aloud with an experienced and empathetic listener can disempower the anxiety so the work of recovery can begin. I have enjoyed working in the NHS and privately over many years on relationship and sexual problems.

Hi, I'm Rachel. I am a psychosexual and relationship therapist. I work with people from all backgrounds and walks of life, although most often I work with clients who fall into the category of gender, sexuality or relationship diverse (GSRD), whether that means someone is kinky, polyamorous, a sex worker, queer (or a combination!). I work with people on a wide variety of issues: I see couples who want to work on improving communication in their relationship; I see individuals who are struggling to identify what they want sexually; I see people who want a space to process their feelings more generally.

Sometimes life is confusing, painful and problematic and we are troubled, distressed and not at peace with our lives or, ourselves. I fully believe that therapy is a setting in which we are able to speak freely and not feel judged; a place where we are met with empathy and understanding. I truly believe a setting such as this provides the basis from which healing can begin. It is absolutely my belief that the answers to our questions lie within us and we just need some assistance in navigating to those answers. Whatever it is you are seeking help with, I would love to work with you to find your answers, clarity and peace.

Are you finding it difficult to cope? Perhaps life's pressures have left you feeling depressed or feeling increasingly stressed and anxious? All too often modern living can leave us with very little space to reflect about our own needs. Our relationships and health can suffer as a result. Psychotherapy can be helpful when emotional suffering becomes too much and at times of crisis when life can feel difficult or unmanageable. I am a qualified and experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist, particularly skilled in working with depression, anxiety and difficulties in couple relationships.

I have always been fascinated by the complexity of human beings, their darkness and their lights. I consider the therapeutic room not only as a space for self-reflection and exploration of what feels difficult to process on your own, but also a place to speak the unspeakable. Therapy can provide an opportunity to challenge behaviours that may appear unchangeable or automatic. As a practitioner I am interested in the integration of cultural and gender studies and have experience working with depression, isolation, sexual identity, existential difficulties, relational dilemmas and bereavement.

Hello! I work in Clapham, Wimbledon and online. I believe that there are times in life when we need someone to turn to, who can help us make sense of things and cope with difficult feelings or situations. I'm here to offer that support. I provide a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space where my clients feel listened to and held, supporting the exploration of problems, challenges and feelings which may be difficult to talk about. At the heart of my practice is the belief that you have the inner resources to implement change. I am here to facilitate that through our work together.

Reasons for seeking counselling may vary and these could include a wide range of psychological or emotional distress as well as the need to explore your life more deeply or reflect on particular life decisions or dilemmas. The way we approach challenges in life and the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that arise from them can sometimes be the source of further suffering which can be experienced as shame, self-criticism, isolation, self-loathing, self-blame and deep emotional suffering.

At the heart of my approach to therapy is a belief that the answer to life’s dilemmas is not ‘out there’ but within us. When we start to love and accept ourselves as we are, we can begin to feel more empathy for others, our relationships will improve, and we will find it easier to have the sort of life we want. It is my view that most people could benefit from therapy. It is a space where you can speak your mind without fear of upsetting friends or family. It is a chance to talk over problems with someone who is not going to be judgemental or tell you what to do. It is a place where you can consider your options and make choices.
