I am a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist who recently retired from the NHS, after over 30 years of dedicated work in Children and families mental health. It is hard to see our children struggle or to acknowledge our struggles as parents. Children might struggle with anxiety, trauma, and a variety of psychological issues that might effect their relationships, their sleep or their learning. I offer a safe and not judgemental space for parents, young children, adolescents and young adults (up to 25 years of age) a space to explore their difficulties and to move on.

Starting therapy is the first step in getting to know yourself a bit more so the changes you wish in your life can take place. There can be many reasons why you might be seeking therapy: from either a particular event or a long-standing difficulty or because you are interested in your personal growth. In any case, I strive to provide you with a safe and confidential space where your concerns can be explored at your own pace. I aim to help you discover, with compassion, more about yourself and foster your growth of self-awareness and authenticity so positive choices can be made.

I support children, young people, parents and carers, families, schools and communities through an integrated approach using psychodynamic psychotherapy and child, community and educational psychology. I love working with individuals, groups and organisations. You may want to focus on exploring and healing past life experiences, understanding present ones and planning for the future. We can weave between the three organically as I work therapeutically, psychologically and life coaching style in response to empowering your voice, bolstering your self esteem and self care, highlighting your strengths and supporting your arising needs.

SERVICES I PROVIDE: Like all forms of therapy, integrative therapy requires that you are open to exploring your fears, your hopes, your life, what is causing you challenges, and what you hope for your future. But if you like the idea of a therapy which is a bit more bespoke and less rigid than other forms, then integrative therapy might indeed be for you. Would you like to try this type of therapy?

I know how overwhelming it can feel trying to find a therapist who is right for you. It is sometimes hard to get a feel for what kind of person a therapist really is beyond their qualifications and training... which is kind of important if you are going to be vulnerable with them! In some moments in our lives, we need professional help when we can’t deal with difficult feelings alone. In these situations, it doesn’t matter if you are not feeling ready to start therapy. The most important thing is to be with someone you feel comfortable enough to express your concerns and feelings. I am here to work with you regardless of your emotional difficulties. I specialise in working with various emotional issues as well as considering how various elements, such as race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, class, culture, nationality, disability, religion, age and others, can affect a person’s wellbeing.

People start therapy for many different reasons. You may feel dissatisfied, worried or sad, want to explore the past, process difficult events, or achieve goals. By also using art-making, it is possible to explore emotional issues in a different, sometimes deeper way, one that words alone may not allow. You do not need to be an artist to benefit from this, just drawn to the idea of expressing yourself creatively. I have experience of helping with a range of issues, from common life problems, through depression, anxiety, panic attacks, trauma, and experiences of unstable mood.

People come to counselling to seek help for various reasons; when experiencing difficult or distress emotions, feeling low, overwhelmed or going through the pains of loss. Or perhaps, you are having an on-going relational difficulties, struggling with change or even searching for more meaning or value to your life. If you would welcome some time and space set aside in your week to meet with me to safely explore your issues. I hope to create and offer you a safe space to speak and reflect. The aim of therapy is to enable you to enhance your life and to live it more fully. Together we will recognise and explore patterns in yourself and others, what your triggers are and where those patterns may have originated.

Hello and Welcome, Life has indeed become complex. Many of us are now struggling with our mental health in ways that are no longer manageable. Our past and present hurts, our unprocessed feelings have risen to the surface. We find ourselves thinking, feeling and acting in ways that do not reflect who we want to be. Some of us have Grief, Trauma or Addiction that we just can’t seem to work through. As a Senior Accredited Psychotherapist with a Master Degree and EMDR Accredited, I've seen thousands come through my door, with various presenting issues and undergo genuine transformation, healing and leave with hope for the future.

Would you like help with difficult feelings, anxiety, low mood, relationships or the impact of trauma and adverse past experiences? Are you an expectant or new parent finding parenthood hard? Are you a young person, struggling with the transition to adulthood?
