Hello. I am Dwayne. Are you requiring support with any of the following: anger management, bereavement, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationships, panic attacks, stress, faith and spirituality? If your answer is "YES", I can help you to explore these difficult thoughts and feelings, and help you move from a place of confusion and feeling lost to a place of clarity and understanding. I can help you make sense of traumatic past experiences and help you to understand its impact on your present . It will be like putting together a jigsaw from all the jumbled up pieces.

Hi, welcome to my profile - let’s see if you think I can help. I believe that in order to overcome life’s challenges and achieve the sense of well-being you desire in life, developing a strong self-awareness is essential. I have an interest in helping you understand how your early relationships with parents, carers, family and peers can shape how you relate to the world around you at present. I have experience of helping those who have faced depression, anxiety, low self-worth; identity issues, drug addiction and anger problems understand how they can be connected to thoughts and feelings that developed in early life.

We may address anxiety/low mood around anger, social/relational difficulties, low self-esteem, perfectionism, trauma, OCD, pregnancy, panic, health and neurological conditions.

As a Clinical Psychologist, I work in line with these values across my private practice and NHS work, supporting adults, parents and children to navigate through the complexities of life.

I have experience helping people with low mood, anxiety, anger, loss, shame, self-criticism, relationship problems, low confidence, grief, and trauma-related difficulties.
There are many reasons why people experience emotional challenges, upsets, or dissatisfaction. We can become overwhelmed by situations that are out of our control, end up being trapped in familiar but unproductive patterns or unsatisfying relationships, or simply reach a point in life when things are not feeling quite okay. Whether you are faced with an emotional storm or a sense of being stuck, I will meet you where you are and support you in finding a way forward. Through the therapy process, you will get to know yourself better, which will guide you in making meaningful choices long after our work has ended.

Life is full of challenges. Everything from work, partners, relationships with family and friends or the lack of these things can bring anxiety, confusion, conflict and trigger feelings of fear, anger, jealousy, or low self-esteem. The sorts of feelings and emotions we often try to hide away and that end up affecting us and our relationships in unhealthy ways. I work as an integrative counsellor, which allows me to tailor my approach to each client focusing on the problem at hand and working with you to create a clear path towards your desired outcomes from therapy.

Life’s journey can sometimes take us down daunting and confusing paths. Anxiety/anger, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, and other psychological problems can make it hard for us to take care of ourselves and our loved ones. Relationship problems can cause us to lose touch with ourselves. Struggles in our careers can lead to dissatisfaction and a lack of fulfilment. Identity issues can cause us to become socially isolated, engage in risky behaviours, or have trouble expressing ourselves. These and other painful experiences prevent us from fully living. But adversity can be a powerful catalyst for transformation and growth.

I am a Psychotherapist with a background in Psychology. If you are reading this it is possible that you are experiencing unwanted emotions such as anxiety, sadness, fear, anger, emptiness, shame, guilt (to name but a few), which almost certainly is leading to unwanted behaviours such as withdrawal, poor communication and harsh self-criticism that makes your self-esteem decrease. These are maybe affecting your relationships with family members, with friends, with work colleagues and even affecting your romantic relationships. If this is what is happening to you and you want to change this, you are in the right place.

Anger Management Counsellors
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
