As a therapist, I have a warm, empathic, and direct style. I work primarily from a relational psychodynamic base and weave in CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and compassion-focused techniques to target symptoms, improve the mind-body connection, and enhance overall well-being.

I am a mindfulness psychotherapist and EMDR therapist providing weekly online therapy sessions. I am passionate about the power of psychotherapy in helping us develop greater self-awareness, compassion and acceptance. It supports us in moving away from living our lives in survival mode to thriving in life and being able to access more joy and freedom. We will work together to explore and unpack the patterns of thought, core beliefs and behaviours that are preventing you from living your life fully and authentically.

Do you struggle with self-acceptance? Do you hide parts of yourself that you’re scared may be rejected by loved ones? Is it hard to share your vulnerability with those closest to you? We can all feel like this at times and it can be challenging to sort through these feelings alone. Deciding to seek help is a courageous choice to take and is an important first step in improving your relationship with yourself and others.

I'm a humanistic therapist based in North London and have experience of working with people who are suffering from a range of issues, including relationship problems, anxiety, depression, loneliness, low self-esteem, trauma and loss. My approach is integrative, which means I'm able to draw on different types of therapy techniques that suit your individual needs. It can be hard to know how to approach difficulties you may be having and even harder to talk to those closest to you. This is where therapy can be hugely beneficial and I offer a chance for reflection in a warm, non-judgemental and confidential environment.

Hi, there! I'm Avery. If you're suffering from anxiety and/or depression brought on by things outside your control, if the tools you've used to cope with life's challenges and hardships are currently hindering you more than they're helping you, or if you need a support reframing how you see yourself and your part in the world, I'd like to help you unwind those tensions. I offer a a gentle space for clients to release, even if for a moment, the things that demand so much of our energy as we power through our daily lives. Just having that space can empower us to approach life creatively and reconnect to our sense of play.

I work pluralistically from a contemporary biopsychosocial framework that incorporates all aspects of self and I believe that you have many of the answers you are seeking within yourself. My objective is to build a safe and holding space for a trusting relationship where you can explore and share your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and problems/difficulties. Clients often seek therapy because of symptoms affecting their everyday life. However, they are often unaware of the root cause of their self-sabotaging behaviours, relationship issues, and emotional numbness. I also provide a more focused work as a single-session therapy (SST)

Starting this process can feel daunting, and the first step is for us to meet each other. I warmly welcome clients of all ages (18+), cultural and class backgrounds, and diverse sexuality, relationship and affectional orientations, to email me for a free initial phone consultation to discuss what you need and how I might support you. Psychotherapy is a wonderful opportunity to develop relational self-awareness and explore your experience, as well as a tool to engage with difficulty and distress in your life. By helping you to understand and illuminate your feelings and experiences, we begin a process of discovery and awareness.

Hello. Sometimes life is just overwhelming - often we know what the root cause of the problem is and occasionally we don't.  Perhaps you have realised that coping on your own isn't working and talking to someone else could help. Whatever the reason you have landed on my page today, I hope it gives you an insight into what I do.   Having faced my own challenges and formed an authentic relationship with my therapist,  I experienced first hand the power of an empathic, caring, non judgemental and safe space to explore my feelings.  My aim is to offer a similar experience to you, whether individually or as a couple.

I offer a warm and supportive space to support your growth and healing process. "Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand That this too, was a gift." Mary Oliver . Mental and emotional suffering are part of life, the pain at times can be too much to bear on our own, which impacts our ability to enjoy life. Counselling can be a safe space to be held, seen and find the gifts that otherwise could be lost in the crisis and challenges we face. Suffering is inevitable but it does not need to be endless. I offer free teachings on self-care through my Instagram and YouTube accounts.

“Just because no one else can heal you or do your inner work for you, doesn’t mean you should do it alone”. Everyone has unique experiences that fluctuate with ups and downs. It can be difficult to expose ourselves to others and ask for help. The core of therapy is to create a safe environment to collaboratively explore your story and make sense of how you can move past the challenges getting in your way. Hi, I am Kora and I am a CBT therapist. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help you manage your difficulties.

I help those struggling with the emotional and psychological difficulties which undermine their enjoyment of life; and also those who simply want to better understand what makes them ‘tick’. Perhaps you are asking yourself: why am I in such a poor relationship, feeling anxious, behaving in a way which is causing problems, experiencing low mood? or sensing a disconnection from yourself, others, or the life you wish you could lead? If so then I am here to help and support you in making the changes that you need, and help you to understand how and why these issues have come into your life.

Female Counsellors

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
