Welcome - You may need help with an emotional difficulty or a challenging experience or you just might not feeI quite 'right'. I aim to offer a safe, client-led, committed and sensitive space where you are free to explore whatever it is in your life that is calling for your attention and free to choose your course to connect you to a sense of purpose and meaning. I hold the overarching concept that life's challenges alongside our innate longing to live more abundantly offer opportunities for transformation. This can be difficult work but the benefits can be great.

Throughout our lives, we often experience times of feeling overwhelmed. There are times when the reason is clear, and we know where to seek assistance, but there are also times when it is less clear. Relief and healing are what the soul and psyche seek at these times. Instead of telling you what to do, I am here to value your uniqueness, however different it may seem to you and the world at large. My practice is based on honesty, integrity, and self-acceptance.

Life can be hard. We are all having a human experience, which means we all face difficulties and obstacles. You needn’t be alone. As a therapist, I’m here to be alongside you with an open heart, and to create a safe space for you on your journey of self-discovery. My approach is non-judgemental and involves curiosity to explore what is happening for you and how you might live life differently. We can look at your experiences, how you see the world, and how you understand yourself. This may include looking at how early life experiences have impacted on you.

My therapeutic approach is largely transpersonal integrative, which means I am able to integrate other approaches into my work, including humanistic, CBT, solution-focused and expressive/art therapy. How I work is entirely dependent on the needs of the client I am working with. Transpersonal therapy is a holistic healing intervention that evolved from the humanistic work of American psychologist Abraham Maslow in the 1960s. I am a registered member of the UKCP, and I work in accordance with their ethical guidelines. I offer both face-to-face sessions as well as online therapy which is accessible to all regardless of location.

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist who is interested in helping clients find a sense of meaning and purpose in their lives, coping with anxiety and depression and helping them find more fulfilling relationships. I enjoy working with people who feel like 'outsiders', and also have a wealth of experience in working with addictions and integrating disturbing experiences - including clients who want to integrate experiences with psychedelic substances, or have recovered from psychosis. I am also interested in working with people who have been in relationships which have been abusive, helping them to learn to move forward into new more healthy relationships.

If you are feeling lost with a particular issue that you want to learn how to deal with or you find yourself in a crossroad in your life and you want to explore the possible direction to take. I provide a trusting relationship and a non-judgemental safe space where at your own time and space you can freely explore.

I like to think that therapy is like a guide that encourages you to see what you may have missed or ignored. I work with clients encouraging different aspects of the personality to find their voice. Maybe we learnt to shut these parts down, perhaps because of their threatening nature or just because they weren’t acceptable to us or our caregivers. I encourage clients to engage with these forgotten parts of the personality to find expression, so they can be heard, understood and validated in a non-judgmental space.

Everyone faces difficulties in life. It might be that something specific has happened. Maybe challenges have built up and feel too much to handle. Or perhaps it’s possible just to get a bit lost somewhere along the line. Sometimes we need some extra support to process and soothe specific pain, or to take some time to get to know ourselves on a deeper level.

Issues such as pressure at work, relationship difficulties, significant life changes, loss or bereavement may be among the many challenges and complexities life brings up. In response, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and stress may arise. Additionally, feelings of isolation and difficulty in finding a sense of meaning and purpose can emerge. Perhaps you are experiencing any one or a mixture of these challenges, amongst many others. You might equally want to engage in a deeper process of personal growth and change. Therapy can offer you a space to feel heard, understood, and supported to work through, process and move forward.

Starting therapy is the first step in getting to know yourself a bit more so the changes you wish in your life can take place. There can be many reasons why you might be seeking therapy: from either a particular event or a long-standing difficulty or because you are interested in your personal growth. In any case, I strive to provide you with a safe and confidential space where your concerns can be explored at your own pace. I aim to help you discover, with compassion, more about yourself and foster your growth of self-awareness and authenticity so positive choices can be made.

Perhaps all in life is well, but there's an underlining feeling that "something is not right" or "I'm just not happy". This might be the point at which we turn within and ask ourselves some questions... In my experience, it can take some time and space to make sense of our thoughts and feelings and to discover what is truly important to us in our life.

I work with a range of clients who are exploring questions of meaning and identity and seeking ways to live a more fulfilling life. Many of the clients who come to me are feeling overwhelmed and are looking to make changes in their lives, but do not know where to start and often have never had enough emotional support or space in which to explore their process and the recurring patterns in their life. Together, we work to understand issues such as anxiety, depression, a lack of motivation, authenticity, loss, or low self-esteem and look for a path to healing and growth.
