I am an integrative therapist (UKCP and MBACP) and my practice is influenced by a variety of therapeutic approaches. My focus is relational, attachment-informed and embodied. This means I believe we can gain as much insight from how we interact, as from the content of what we say. My practice draws on childhood, inter-generational and wider cultural experiences to make sense of thoughts, feelings and sensations in the present. I believe that working with our physicality and paying attention to our bodily sensations can enhance our understanding of ourselves.

Are you feeling stuck? Like you are just going through the motions, living in autopilot? Maybe you feel on edge, overwhelmed, and like your emotions are going to spill over at any time. Maybe you swing from feeling really anxious and stressed, to feeling numb, shutdown and spaced out. Feeling sad, lonely and hopeless. Or a mix of all of these. You might understand what the issue is, and why it’s there - and yet you still feel the same. You don't understand why you haven’t just been able to move on. You might feel deeply ashamed about how you feel, hiding this or withdrawing from others. You are not alone. I can help.

Do you feel stuck in your life? Do you have a need to prove to others that you are good enough? Do you depend on the opinions of other people? Do you have repetitive scenarios in your relationships? Are you fed up with your old habits? Whatever challenges you have it is very important to understand that we are all learning and nobody is perfect, otherwise we would not be here on the planet Earth. I invite you to explore and release what is on the way to the real You, what is holding you back. Imagine what it would feel like to have a true freedom in your life. What would it look like? What would it sound like?

Moving towards a more fulfilling and authentic life can be challenging, especially when you feel stuck in your past or unable to change habits and patterns of behaviour. Maybe you are struggling to set boundaries or recognise your own needs. Perhaps you are in physical discomfort, feel depressed or have a sense of being lost in life. Our work together will explore the beliefs and stories we have created about ourselves over time, that can hold us back. No matter how confused or overwhelmed you may feel, my aim is to support you on your journey to a healthier, happier life.

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist with many years of experience working with a diverse range of people and whatever they choose to bring to their therapy. Are you feeling like it's time to change the things that feel unhelpful and hinder your enjoyment of daily life? Working together, we can look at the past and the events in it which now inform your present. I work collaboratively, led by you, with warmth and an open attitude. I believe in helping you feel seen and heard - really listened to, perhaps in way you have not previously experienced.

I am understanding, patient, empathetic, friendly and I have good listening skills. During counselling sessions, I understands my clients’ thoughts and emotions, as well as ongoing issues that they may be having through an integrative approach. This is done by facilitating them to replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts which would in turn help them to feel and act positively. I also help the client to identify their strengths and weaknesses. My aim to build independence, empowerment and self-love in my clients.

Thank you for visiting my page. I am currently working online only. Life can present us with many challenges, some of which may be harder to deal with than others. I work with clients who have/are experiencing depression, anxiety, bereavement, addictive behaviours, and abuse to name a few, which can leave us feeling blocked, hopeless and unaware of what to do. I use an integrative approach to therapy which includes, gestalt, person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT therapy to deepen awareness of these blocks and to help you make a healthy change.

In therapy, we work together to increase your awareness of what is happening for you, as well as any patterns you have developed in response to significant events and relationships in your life that may no longer serve you. Therapy offers a safe space to explore what it is you need now, and how you might move towards that. My approach very deliberately engages with your "whole-you" experience: your thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations, as you are, right now. I also pay special attention to how you are "in relation" with your context: the life situations you are in, the people in your life, and even the therapist in the room.

Female Counsellors
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
