My particular interest lies in guiding and encouraging people towards self-actualization and the integration of their fullest potential in whatever sphere of life they are engaged. This process may be seen as a journey, which we share together for at time and requires only ‘the willingness and the courage to be’. To participate joyfully in life is the goal at the heart of psychosynthesis therapy and coaching – and its achievement often comes in unexpected ways. We focus on developing your potential at all levels of being - body, feelings, mind and spirit - and on your deeper centre of identity as the source of true relationship.

I do not specialise in any one area and work holistically with what your bring and am focused on both helping you manage challenges so you can move forwards and drawing upon your strengths.
There are many reasons why you may be looking for therapy – whether that is simply a space to make sense of where you are in your life right now, a particular difficulty or ongoing challenge, or instigating some change in your life. The ultimate goal is to move forward and my integrative therapy training and experience means I will work with the past, present and future. I work solely online and have been doing so since 2020 with great effect. I have been working for over twenty years as a therapist with trainings in a number of modalities (psychodynamic, CBT, hu manistic, mindfulness, hypnotherapy, neurolinguistic programming.

I am a qualified psychotherapist registered with the BPC and the BACP, I am also registered with Aviva insurance. I have extensive experience seeing a broad range of psychotherapy patients in the NHS where I have worked with issues including trauma, depression, anxiety, abuse and personality disorders. If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, instability, addictions or a lack of meaning and purpose then psychotherapy could be of real value. It is an opportunity to have conversations and experiences that I don’t believe we can have anywhere else.

Therapy has the exciting potential to support deep self-understanding and change. The reasons that people give therapy a try are uniquely subjective. Initially perhaps there is a wish to try something new and involves some type of recognition and noticing something that feels tangled, elusive, and a struggle. Especially in group therapy you come to know yourself in ways you didn't before, through reflecting with others on experiences in and out of the group. Group therapy can offer deeper insights that can help with figuring out options for change in oneself and in relationships and can bring hope for the future.

I work with children and young people, specialising in anxiety and OCD. I help them learn new skills and attitudes to improve their ability to handle difficult thoughts and feelings and do more of what matters to them and make more room for connection. Mental health challenges encroach on their lives, make them avoid and make their world smaller. They disconnect from themselves, the things they care about and the people that matter to them. They underestimate their strengths and resources, overestimate life’s challenges and get stuck.

In seeking therapy, you may be looking for a supportive space to explore, understand and work through the issues life can bring up. These might include relationship difficulties, a challenging life transition, a loss or bereavement. You might be experiencing feelings that do not seem to be directly related to a specific issue, such as anxiety, depression, stress, overwhelm, low self-esteem, trouble with interpersonal boundaries, difficulty in finding a sense of meaning and purpose, or feeling lonely and isolated. Therapy can offer you a space to feel heard, understood, and supported to work through, process and grow.

I trained in Psychosynthesis: an integrative, hu manistic approach based on psychoanalysis that examines hu man nature holistically: mind, body, feelings, and soul.
Hello, at certain times in life we can feel stuck, lost, and uncertain, as if we are on autopilot and not truly connected to ourselves, our partner, our family, or our friends. This can be frustrating and isolating, making it hard to see a way forward. I offer an environment to explore where you are in life and how you'd like to move forward.

Mental Health challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, and ADHD are common challenges men face.
‘The Journey’ is a small group of Psychotherapists specialising in three areas: Mental health challenges, relationship difficulties and career related issues. Working on a one-to-one basis, you will be able to talk privately within a safe, confidential space. Together, we will work through your current situation and what’s brought you to reaching out. We will work through your past, reflecting on the significant events and how they have impacted you. When you feel ready, you can begin to build a future that you really want, one that motivates you and excites you. A future that you really want.

I integrate several types of psychotherapy (analytic, hu manistic, existential, CBT).
I see clients individually or in couples, who are suffering from all kinds of anxiety and unhappiness,or are feeling lost or stuck. You may be having problems at work, with self-esteem or in your relationship with a partner or friends. You may need to work through trauma, including bullying and relationship loss. If you are a couple, I will help you to analyze what has gone wrong; and have you learn to nurture your relationship by thinking together and working out how to support each other.

I help people to feel better about themselves and empowered to make positive changes to their lives. Being truly heard (perhaps for the first time) by someone who will never judge, dictate to, or betray you, can be a profoundly healing experience. With growing trust and commitment, negative thoughts and feelings can be explored, understood and overcome. Regrets about the past and fears for the future can be replaced by fulfilment in the present.

I am a Chartered Principal Clinical Psychologist whose approach to therapy is psychodynamic, focusing on understanding a person’s individual experience of the world and the problems they’ve come to live with. This involves us working together to try to understand the particular meaning of one’s difficulties and troubling feelings and how and why such distressing experiences have occurred at this point in life. Such understandings often help people feel less troubled and ‘stuck’, for example with depression, anxiety or traumatic experiences, clearing the way for the changes that have been longed-for but remained elusive.

I work with men, wo men and couples with relationship issues.
Over the last 14 years I have helped many people achieve a sense of well being, integration and wholeness in their personal & professional life. I can help you achieve the same. Life does not need to be a struggle. The process begins with you taking that scary first step to have an initial session or even just to call me to have a chat. In this first session or chat you can experience me and how I work and if we are a good fit, we can take it from there. I look forward to talking to you.

There are many reasons why people seek time and space to talk and reflect. You might want to talk about thoughts and feelings that are difficult to discuss with others, or consider what has happened to bring you to this point in your life. This can be a space for exploration and discovery, a protected hour in which you will be listened to. My focus is on listening openly, without judgment, to whatever you bring. I will listen to your experiences and your point of view and together we can look at different perspectives which can help you to live more freely.

Male Counsellors

As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?

There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.

How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?

Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client. Prospective clients should also ask what the expectation is for treatment, and what the fee structure is, and whether and which insurance plans are accepted.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?

Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with a male therapist. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges, in the case of male clients. Some women have prior negative experiences with women that predispose them to prefer working with a male in therapy. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.

Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?

Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
