The past leaves its footprints in the future. It can keep affecting us, making it hard to be happy, especially when life throws up challenges. Sometimes it helps to have someone working alongside you, helping you find your path. I know starting therapy can be daunting, so I use an integrated approach to create a safe and supportive environment where you will feel empowered to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Together we will unpick patterns that no longer serve you, helping you build a more positive future.

Hi, I'm Kristin. I have been a counsellor for over fifteen years, and have been blessed and trusted with countless stories of the human experience. I consider it an honour and a privilege to help others purposefully and consciously connect with their own power. We all, at times, need support and guidance as we become aware of what we need to heal and attempt to navigate life’s challenges with authenticity and grace. It takes courage and vulnerability to ask for help; and sometimes it takes patience and commitment to find the right help. If you are curious to find out how I can help you…let’s chat.

Choosing to engage with therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s important to find the right therapist for you. You may be struggling with an issue; you may find yourself in a repeating pattern of behaviour; or you may wish to explore existential issues in order to find greater meaning in your life. I offer a safe, confidential space where you can explore whatever you bring without judgement. I work psycho-dynamically. Put simply, this means that we will explore together the ways in which you have dealt with experiences and relationships in the past so that we can impact the ways in which you deal with them in the future.

Every person has their own unique story. What happens in our lives as our story unfolds shapes who we are, how we see and experience the world, how we feel about it and where we fit within it. Counselling can help you discover more about who you are, learn about your relationships, understand past events and how you developed, help you have deeper understanding of yourself and learn new ways to live your life. Counselling can help you change from feeling that your story is being written for you and learn how to start writing it for yourself. I currently have availability to take new clients.

Only a new path can lead to a new place. You may be suffering with trauma and navigating the repercussions of difficult events or memories. You might feel like you have lost your direction and maybe even a part of yourself along the way. I will work with you to help you to process these changes and gain a deeper understanding of the road that you have travelled so far. This can open your eyes to choices and options that might be hard for you to see right now.

We all have the right to be our own expression of human. Maybe you struggle with feeling that there’s something ‘wrong’ or ‘different’ about you? Maybe life sometimes feel too difficult to manage? Or you may often feel that you need to hide, change, or control aspects of yourself in the outside world. Life often presents us with unexpected challenges and having someone there to support you can make these challenges feel more manageable. I passionately believe in empowering individuals to find their own answers to the challenges they face. I value diversity, integrity, connection, and the journey of self-discovery.

When life feels challenging, daunting or unfulfilling, it’s usually a result of trauma, difficult life events or relational issues. This can make you feel anxious, depressed and not quite yourself. Trauma sounds scary, but it isn’t always what you think it is. Sometimes trauma is the result of a big, dramatic event in your life. Sometimes, it’s an accumulation of difficult everyday events. You might feel a bit alone, disconnected or misunderstood, and you probably picked up some negative thoughts and habits as a way to cope.

Sometimes we long for change, or find ourselves asking, ‘What is WRONG with me?’. Perhaps there’s an obvious reason - loss, abuse or a troubled relationship. Just as bad is when you can’t find a reason, you feel ‘nothing’. You lose emotional connection to life, others and yourself. This leads to inner conflict – different parts of you seem to want different things. One part is lonely, another is scared to connect. One part wants success, another wants to zone out. One part wants confidence, another wants to hide behind the curtains. You end up gridlocked into feelings and a life you don't want. I know, I've been there.

I offer long or short-term integrative therapy. My work is based on developing a therapeutic relationship with my clients. My core training is rooted in using a person-centred approach, where the use of empathy and developing rapport is essential for a successful outcome as it enables you to work through your issues at your own pace.

You may be experiencing a whole range of emotions that has brought you here. Whatever happens next, just know that it is ok to feel whatever you are feeling, and you don't have to go through it alone. I believe that building a strong relationship between yourself, the client, and me, the counsellor, based on trust, openness, and honesty, is key to affecting change and growth within yourself, and it is at the heart of the work that we will do together. You are the expert in your own life, and I am here to help facilitate your own understanding of yourself in a space that is safe and free of judgement.

I am a warm, compassionate person and experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor. We can all find ourselves in times of difficulty, whether in a time of crisis, feeling stuck in repetitive patterns, feeling disconnected, struggling to find meaning, or feeling like our true self has become buried. Counselling offers space to slow down and connect with yourself in the presence of another person, to be truly heard and to explore difficult thoughts or emotions. It can enable reflection on helpful or unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling and relating, and welcome deeper self-acceptance and self-compassion.

I imagine that you are here because life seems particularly tough at the moment. Perhaps you are anxious about the future, or suffering with difficult memories from the past. Perhaps you have realised that the relationship patterns you have developed are no longer working for you and you would like to find a new way of connecting to your partner or others. Perhaps you need some practical guidance with a sex related problem. Wouldn't it be good if a trusted professional, who is also warm and 'real' could help you find a positive way forward?
