Depression Counselling in Hove
I have extensive experience working with adults experiencing low mood, anxiety, interpersonal and relationship issues, grief and loss, low self-esteem, trauma, and clients going through life transitions.
I have been working as a Counselling Psychologist in clinical and educational settings since 2003 and currently manage a specialist therapeutic service in the voluntary sector. My integrative approach is at the core of my therapeutic philosophy, understanding that each individual is unique and that there is no one size fits all approach to mental health. In my therapeutic work I draw from existential, humanist, psychodynamic, constructivist and systemic frameworks.

I love working with young people and the systems around them to help them move through difficult life experiences.
My main focus is always on creating a safe therapeutic relationship where we can think creatively together about the difficulties you might be facing. I particularly enjoy working with neurodivergent young people and adults, exploring together how they experience the world. I work predominantly from a trauma-informed perspective and a lot of my work with neurodivergent families focusses on the parent-child relationship.

It’s not always easy finding someone to share your difficulties with and have someone truly listen to you.
At times life can be difficult. Sometimes it may feel like life isn’t moving forward and you keep repeating the same old patterns and nothing changes. You may be dwelling on the past or worried about the present or the future. You may just be in a place of general unhappiness where you just don’t know what to do. In developing a better understanding of ourselves, increasing our awareness, and learning about how we operate as people we are able to make fresh choices, see new perspectives, change things, move forward and find our full potential. I believe in peoples capacity to thrive when they are given the right conditions to do so.
