When did you last feel really listened to? Do you feel ready to explore why you might feel confused, unfulfilled or overwhelmed by life's difficulties? Early relationships and life events may have shaken your ability to fully value yourself or others. You might be experiencing anxiety or depression. Being able to talk openly to an objective and compassionate counsellor can offer you the support you need to connect with frightening or buried feelings and start to let go of strategies that no longer work for you. You can start to find your own truth and a sense of who you really are.

Hello and Welcome, Life has indeed become complex. Many of us are now struggling with our mental health in ways that are no longer manageable. Our past and present hurts, our unprocessed feelings have risen to the surface. We find ourselves thinking, feeling and acting in ways that do not reflect who we want to be. Some of us have Grief, Trauma or Addiction that we just can’t seem to work through. As a Senior Accredited Psychotherapist with a Master Degree and EMDR Accredited, I've seen thousands come through my door, with various presenting issues and undergo genuine transformation, healing and leave with hope for the future.

I am guessing that you are here because some aspect of your life is not working for you, or you are hoping for a change - maybe big, maybe small. Perhaps you are not seeking change at all, but find your world has changed, leaving you feeling like the rug has been pulled from under your feet. Perhaps you are struggling with depression and /or anxiety, the legacy of traumatic experience, or the pain of bereavement. Maybe you are struggling in your relationships. Perhaps you do not identify with having mental health struggles, but feel a bit ‘stuck’, unhappy at work or unsure about the direction of your life.

I am an experienced advanced qualified psychodynamic counsellor. My client base ranges from adolescents through to the older adult. I offer a safe, ethical and professional environment whereby present day life situations can be thought about in relation to felt anxieties. I draw upon my professional expertise to help explore what as yet may not be understood or known, but may be experienced personally as confusing and overwhelming. With exploration, patterns are understood and a new sense self awareness develops. With care, guidance, time, patience and practice a mental thinking space can start to be experienced.

Right now you may feel desperate, lost, empty, stressed, anxious or fed up. Whatever difficulty has prompted you to seek Counselling does not define who are you are and the journey you want to take in life. Together we will explore your feelings of being stuck, alone or in darkness as you strengthen your own resources to create greater wellbeing, resilience and satisfaction. No person is the same or brings identical experiences but frequent issues I work with include depression, anxiety, loss & bereavement, trauma, suicidal thoughts, work or school stress and relationship tensions. I work with clients aged 13+ and with Couples.

Have you experienced distress and upset or loss ? Unresolved issues that trouble you ? Do you suffer from anxiety, panic attacks, PTS or depression ? Do you want to feel differently about the life you live or the person that you are. Perhaps you want to change aspects of you life for it to be more rewarding. Maybe you know that things are unlikely to change. Do you require a safe space where you can be heard, a place to share your thoughts and be understood. A place where being you is good enough. If you are 16 years old or heading into your 99th year, wanting to explore your world then it would be a privilege to support you.

It's a 'given' that life is complex. Finding a solution to difficulties can be so challenging, perhaps seemingly 'impossible'. However, nothing is impossible .... the very word itself tells us - "I'm-possible!"

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
