Therapy is a journey of getting to know yourself better; the parts you love, the parts you want to let go of, and everything in between. However, the journey can be lonely and we often find ourselves walking into the same dark alleyways time and time again. That’s where a strong therapeutic partnership can help us understand why we take the same routes, explore what other options we have, and what decisions we want to make next.

We can all have difficulties in everyday life and encounter problems that we simply find hard to cope with alone. You may feel worried, anxious, low, confused, isolated or may be experience difficulties in relationships. You may be suffering from feelings of low self esteem or low self confidence. You may have been diagnosed with anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, depression, or maybe you are just feeling sad. When these feelings and thoughts persist and become overwhelming it may be difficult to know which way to turn.

If you seeking to feel safe with a therapist, my goal is to provide you with a feeling of trust and security. You may feel this sense of safety in our first session, or it may take many sessions to build. I believe that when you are relaxed, open and comfortable, that is when the most fruitful work can take place. You may be struggling with complex trauma, anxiety, depression, childhood issues, self-harm or suicidal thoughts; or perhaps you aren't sure how to put into words what you're going through, you just know that you need to speak to someone.

Different Kinds of Minds
I see that all behaviours such as self-harm, suicide attempts, drinking, drug abuse and other impulsive behaviours have developed as coping strategies to cope with and numb difficult emotions and experiences. These behaviours often act as a plaster to a deeper wound, but just like a plaster they don’t really ever fully heal unless they have time to heal properly. This is the work of therapy to take off the plaster and look more towards the root causes of the behaviour to work out what is going on for you.

Sessions I offer are in person or online to adults and adolescents 15+.
I provide a safe space for Talking Therapy and EMDR Therapy sessions. EMDR Therapy can be helpful for PTSD and Trauma, whether a one off incident or chronic trauma such as childhood abuse or neglect and many other mental health presentations, such as body dysmorphia, grief, self-esteem, chronic pain, anxiety, sexual assault, childhood neglect, domestic abuse and more. Many of these presentations can leave you feeling isolated, frustrated and helpless, by processing these via bilateral stimulation to a resolution, life can become more manageable and less triggering, allowing you to achieve your goals.

Life can present us with many struggles, ranging from those arising from specific circumstances or existential concerns, through to more complex and long-standing difficulties. I have experience of working with many different concerns, including anxiety, depression, high levels of shame and self-criticism, difficulties in relationships, low self-esteem, self harm and/or suicidal thoughts, sexual abuse, and difficult family dynamics/early experiences (including growing up with parents who may have been very loving, but struggled to recognise and attune to your emotional needs).

I am passionate about living a fulfilled life. I believe this is rooted in positive and satisfying relationships. Sometimes, these relationships become stuck, hit an obstacle, or become overwhelmed by disagreements and conflicts. Sometimes, our bodies do not perform or function sexually in the way we would like them to, which can have a significant impact on our well-being, our sexual satisfaction, and ultimately our relationships.
