Outdoor 'walk and talk' sessions now available as well as online and face to face. I like to approach our sessions as a 'co-pilot in your plane'. You are at the controls and we learn together how your plane works. The ultimate goal is that you know your plane well enough to take full control and fly through the weather, good or bad, unaided. Please do reach out, lets chat.

I'm a relational integrative therapist meaning, the relationship is the therapy. It also means I use different types of therapy to meet your needs because, you are unique. Integrative therapy helps you become a more integrated whole person, better able to experience the entire range of your behaviour, emotions and thoughts as well as improving your relationship with yourself and others. Neuroplasticity continues throughout the lifespan which means that change and improvement in the way we feel is always possible and therapy is the best way to achieve this.

Most people feel overwhelmed by issues at certain times in their lives. You may feel overwhelmed by grief following a bereavement, or by anxiety following a difficult life event, or you may be suffering as a result of abuse in a relationship. You may want to express your feelings in relation to these issues and require a safe space to do so. You may want to explore them more deeply so you can acknowledge them and understand them better. And ultimately you may want to develop in a way which helps you overcome those issues. Being able to integrate those more uncomfortable parts of ourselves can lead to a better and more fruitful life.

Life can feel like hard work sometimes; we get lost in the busy-ness of doing life, forgetting how to be; existing instead of living. Life events - past or present - can leave us feeling anxious, distressed, lacking in confidence, low, disconnected, or there's something wrong that you can't put into words. Coming to terms with a loss of someone/something? Have a concern you can't see how to deal with? Struggling with, or questioning, your identity or sexuality & unable to talk to family or friends? Do you have beliefs about yourself that you grew up with, feelings of "I'm not good enough"? If so, then talking about it can help.

Hi! Welcome to Embark Exeter - Canine Assisted Therapy. Approaching counselling can feel scary & overwhelming, like opening a can of worms. As part of my training, I too had to open that can with great trepidation. However, a counsellor can help you safely sift through rather than spill them all out in one chaotic, squirming mess. You are in control of your story. I see my job as helping you to "unpack" and explore your past and present. I have a wealth of lived experiences that have brought me to where I am today, and I am passionate about the empowerment, healing and personal growth that the counselling relationship can bring.

Do you feel stuck, anxious or overwhelmed? Perhaps worry, lack of confidence or low self esteem is having a negative effect on your life, causing you to feel isolated and alone. Talking to loved one about what we are experiencing can feel difficult, we worry that we are putting to much on them or we don't want them to worry about us. Talking to a counsellor can be really helpful at these times and can show a way forward. However I understand that a good counselling relationship is vital to support you in moving toward your goals.

I work with clients who are open to reflect and explore whatever they wish to bring to counselling and may be interested in trying some creative exercises in our sessions to help look at things from a different perspective. Their goals may be to improve self-awareness, self-acceptance and create healthy relationships with themselves and others.
