I believe after years of personal experience and expert training that we can flourish when we feel listened to and supported. Today’s family structures can leave us feeling isolated, exhausted and under pressure with little or no wise guidance. I specialise in supporting adults, children and teens that are struggling. I offer empathy and therapeutic knowledge to help you make sense of your world. I am an integrative adult/ young adult’s counsellor and child and adolescent psychotherapist (BACP Accred). I work in primary schools and privately. I also lead parenting groups and provide private in person or online therapy sessions.

I am an integrative therapist offering talk-based therapy, drawing on multiple therapeutic approaches to suit my clients. I work from a soulful (transpersonal) perspective which means I consider what meaning we might make of the difficulties we face as well as looking to understand what events and patterns might have created those difficulties. An important factor for therapy to be successful is the relationship between client and therapist. I work in a warm and sensitive way welcoming open conversation. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental space to explore both your internal world and the situation you find yourself in.

As a transpersonal psychotherapy I understand personal crisis to have a useful purpose in that they act as a warning signal as well as indicating the way for us to change, grow and unfold.
I like to think that therapy is like a guide that encourages you to see what you may have missed or ignored. I work with clients encouraging different aspects of the personality to find their voice. Maybe we learnt to shut these parts down, perhaps because of their threatening nature or just because they weren’t acceptable to us or our caregivers. I encourage clients to engage with these forgotten parts of the personality to find expression, so they can be heard, understood and validated in a non-judgmental space.

In my practice, it is my privilege to walk alongside individuals who are seeking to heal themselves as they grow through life. My role is it use my training as an integrative transpersonal psychotherapist to support the emergent qualities of balance and develop ego strength in service to one’s higher-self, even when the soul feels deeply weary. This is a long winded way of describing a therapeutic style that is guided by the client that adapts to the needs and is non judgemental, that has proven successful for many clients over the years.

I work with the all the parts that make up the personality - thoughts, feelings and the body, as well as what is beyond the personal - the transpersonal - the consciousness that extends beyond the individual.
I know that it takes courage to reach out and find someone to talk to, It's normal to feel uncertain or anxious, the prospect of seeking change can be as difficult and frustrating as the situation you might be in now, be that a period of depression, an experience of anxiety, a creative block, or a personal crisis. I'm Jonathan, a transpersonal counsellor working online and in my consulting room in N15. While I take my work very seriously, I am not the stoic, Freudian type. I counsel using proven, effective methods to provide a gentle, safe, and fun approach to therapy.

Psychosynthesis is a transpersonal or psychospiritual psychology, in which the spiritual or soulful is integrated with the psychological.
Seeking therapy can be a scary decision. I do believe however that the issues prompting you to come to me have the potential to enable you to move into a new level of self-understanding. A key principle of my particular therapy - Psychosynthesis, suggests that the symptoms of our problems can indicate a deeper meaning or potential trying to emerge in our lives. Our work together will try to discover what that might be. To achieve this I offer a focused approach for a specific issue in short-term work or we can go into more depth for work in the longer term.

I am an empathic and intuitive psychotherapeutic counsellor. When working with you, I consider the impact of your past as well as what is happening in your life now. I work at your pace drawing on our therapeutic relationship to help you deepen your understanding of other relationships. By paying attention to the mind, emotion and body connection, I help you uncover what may not yet be obvious. Connecting with these deeper aspects of self can help you experience life more fully, uncover hidden potential and understand what is blocking you. My training was in Integrative Transpersonal Counselling and I am a trained yoga teacher.

My approach to therapy is grounded in Analytical Psychology and held in the wider framework of Transpersonal Psychology; which you may wish to know more about, or you might prefer to trust not-knowing and come into the process as you are.
The well-known Jungian Analyst Marion Woodman says, 'the process not the goal is everything.' Similarly, I do not offer quick fixes, goals or solutions. I offer to facilitate a process, your individual process, in resonance with what's true and right for you - as that emerges. As a result, a starting point for therapy is me getting to know you: what events or symptoms have prompted you to reach out; what struggles, fears or hopes do you bring and what do you feel comfortable to begin to share about your life story?

I'm an integrative transpersonal therapist.
There are many reasons you might be looking for therapy or counselling: you might be feeling low, anxious or have a particular life problem you are finding overwhelming - grief, heartbreak, or trauma. Perhaps you feel ready to break out of an old pattern or make a change, or build your self esteem, learning to love who you already are, with all your imperfections, vulnerabilities, and beauty. But if you are seeking therapy, you are probably suffering - perhaps I can listen, and share that burden with you. I wonder if, together, we could put the pieces of your story together and find our way through the underworld, back to your life.

My therapeutic approach is largely transpersonal integrative, which means I am able to integrate other approaches into my work, including humanistic, CBT, solution-focused and expressive/art therapy. How I work is entirely dependent on the needs of the client I am working with. Transpersonal therapy is a holistic healing intervention that evolved from the humanistic work of American psychologist Abraham Maslow in the 1960s. I am a registered member of the UKCP, and I work in accordance with their ethical guidelines. I offer both face-to-face sessions as well as online therapy which is accessible to all regardless of location.

How does transpersonal therapy work?
Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.
How long does transpersonal therapy last?
Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.
Is transpersonal therapy effective?
Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilise the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.
What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?
There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
