A warm welcome to my profile page. I have over twenty years experience working in mental health, and I'm here to offer compassionate, non judgemental support, be that with managing the stresses of everyday life, making personal changes or navigating your way through a crisis. People are individuals, and I'm commited to the idea that the support they receive should reflect this and come from a place of positive personal empowerment. I truly believe that difficult times and challenges offer an opportunity for personal growth and development, but also that you don't just have to 'survive' them ,you can come out thriving.

As an existential counsellor and psychotherapist I work with individuals who are seeking to improve their situation in life. You might be suffering from anxiety, depression, addiction, or just wanting to reflect on your position in the world and the decisions that have brought you to the present moment. Whatever the issue might be, talking through your problems can bring new light to how you see yourself and those around you.

I work with midlife and older women who are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress and burnout. You may be experiencing low-mood, low self-esteem and loss of confidence. You may feel life has no meaning, caught in repeating patterns. You may be worried about your health, your energy, your weight, your future, your relationships, your sense of wellbeing. If you have reached the point of despair, that no matter what you do nothing seems to work and you've given up, know that you are not alone. I've been there myself and I know how confusing and scary this can be.

18 years experience as a Psychotherapist. Online Counselling provided for those isolated at home. It’s very normal to need help when life is challenging or distressing. Such upsets might be because of loss, anxiety, depression or maybe due to childhood neglect, abuse or trauma. Some people simply want to learn more about themselves. Whatever the reason, counselling is a way to help you discover more of who you are, your resilience, find strength and determine a successful strategy that works for you.

My clients are men who recognise the value of seeking support for their mental well-being. While perhaps successful in many areas of life, men often experience challenges with stress, relationships, anxiety, depression or finding meaning and purpose. I help clients in self-exploration and personal growth, and help to facilitate lasting positive change and a deeper understanding of oneself.

If you decide to work with me it will be rather like setting out on a journey together. On that journey I’ll be your fellow traveller, companion and guide. Whether or not your reason for coming to see me is an external situation that’s impacting your life, a key part of our time together will be to explore your inner world. As we explore that world together you may develop greater insight into patterns of thought and behaviour that served you once but now limit you; you may find alternative ways of approaching difficulties; you may discover a way of being in the world that is more in tune with who you truly are.

As a counsellor specialising in trauma, I understand how difficult it is to function with the intrusive symptoms that come from being exposed to a traumatic event/s, such as the flashbacks, avoiding people and places that bring up uncomfortable feelings, or just feeling on edge all of the time. Trauma can also take a terrible toll on those closest to you while you struggle to deal with overwhelming emotions. Taking the first steps to see a counsellor, even if it’s not your first time, requires immense courage, that's why I believe in creating a comfortable, empathic space where you can feel truly understood, supported and safe.

I am based at the Practice Rooms, Brighton and my office in Wilmington, East Sussex. I have a life long fascination in the nature of us as humans and in particular our emotional lives. I am interested in how complicated we all are. Sometimes it can help to take time out to try to understand ourselves better, and how we are in the world, for example, ‘Why do I keep making the same mistakes?’, ‘’Why am I so fearful, stressed or unhappy?' or ‘How did I get here?’. Therapy can help to work through some of the complexities in our lives or to make sense of and mourn painful experiences and to keep a sense of creativity and meaning alive.
