I have been lucky enough in my career to date to work with some incredibly inspiring and brave individuals who have been at a crossroads in their life. Sometimes making change felt frightening or impossible due to past beliefs, stuck patterns of behaviour or limiting thought processes. Others were struggling to move on after devastation, illness, loss or identity crisis. I believe it is a privilege to be able to guide those in need at these times due to the courage and vulnerability they show. They are asking from the heart for a new beginning - to break from the past, not feel scared by the future and live truly in the present.

You need someone safe to turn to with your feelings, someone who is not going to judge you or feel burdened by your needs. You want to work things out and feel supported. Together we can explore, understand your situation, build on your strengths and increase your capacity and confidence.

Everybody’s experiences and responses toward the unpredictability of life, differ greatly. Having a confidential space, that’s just yours, where you can focus on yourself, your life experiences, or your thoughts and feelings, can be incredibly transformative, provide a sense of relief, clarity, renewed optimism and hopefulness. I’m far from a ‘detached analytical cold figure’ in the room, but a person of warmth, an ‘old soul’ and ‘down to earth attitude’, whom respects individual uniqueness, circumstances and paths in life. I work with you to find the answers/solutions that you are looking for; not to analyse, or dictate to you.

I am committed to forming a trusting therapeutic relationship, that allows you to feel comfortable and safe in sharing & exploring what has brought you to counselling. This lays a solid foundation for working alongside you at your pace and offering a range of approaches that respect and respond to your needs. I work within a pluralistic framework, where I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches that accommodate your preferences and help work through your difficulties.

As a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist my main focus is helping clients understand and manage their problems within this framework. CBT is an active therapy, present focused, collaborative and structured allowing the clients to become ‘their own therapist’. This type of therapy empowers the client to take responsibility for their own therapeutic journey, acquiring the skills and techniques to maintain changes made in therapy for the long term. I adhere to the standards of conduct, performance and ethics required by my accrediting body the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).

Our bodies are very good at storing our feelings. But sometimes, this means our emotions can get stuck leading our nervous systems to freeze or shut down. This can look like feeling ‘numb’, hopeless or depressed. For other people, they may feel at the mercy of their emotions, often unintentionally reacting and feeling out of control. Other people may have learnt handy ways of managing emotions by focusing on the needs of others, trying to look after the people around them. More recently, this has been recognised as a 'fawn' response - a way of coping in moments of possible threat or danger.

Do you long to experience some peace, freedom and self trust around food? I believe this should be a birthright for everyone. If you are feeling out of control around food and concerned about the size or shape of your body, I get it because I've been there. I now use my professional and lived experience to help others find their way out of the prison of binge eating. I'm sure you have tried many times to gain control of your eating and maybe you're at a point where you're thinking there must be more going on than simply not being able to stick to a diet. Is therapy the answer?

Hello; a warm welcome to my profile. Perhaps you are trying to change something in your life; perhaps you are wanting to give up old habits or create new ones. Maybe you are struggling with something, or perhaps you just want to take a look at your life and assess or reassess it. Together we can work out a way forward; by looking at and following your cues, which you may or may not be aware of right now, we can map a path that feels right for you. I truly believe that everyone carries their own answers within them; we just need to find out what they are!

Emotional well being is something we can often take for granted, and more often than not we do not take time to attend to our emotional well being until we begin to struggle to maintain a balance. You may just need some space to reflect safely and without judgement. Perhaps you are overwhelmed by the pressures of life, stuck in a rut, repeating negative patterns, or trying to find a way out of anxiety or depression. Maybe you just don’t feel able to share your worries and concerns with those around you? Maybe you just don’t feel like ‘you’ and would like to explore why, or you have feelings of worthlessness and hopelessness.

Sometimes life can feel difficult and overwhelming, or you might feel that you need to make changes in your life and you are finding it difficult to deal with these things by yourself. Therapy gives you a space to talk about your experiences with someone who is impartial and has no judgements about you or your life. I offer you a calm space in which to do this and will welcome you with warmth and understanding. I work with a range of issues including anxiety, self-esteem and depression and provide short and long term therapy either online or over the phone.

Choosing a therapist can be daunting, especially when you may be feeling anxious, depressed, confused, or at a low point. Maybe you're thinking how can anyone understand. If you’ve had no experience of working with a counsellor, or previous counseling wasn't what you expected or were ready to continue, I understand this can be difficult. I work with the complexity and difficulty of trauma which ranges from person to person.

I work creatively, using the felt sense to guide me with a combination of psychotherapeutic models, neuroscience and intuition, where we can unpick the stories that have bought you to this point. Giving space for you to authentically expand. I have a special interest in post traumatic growth, finding strength and value in our darkest experiences can catapult us to a place where our new found resilience and self confidence allows us to live beyond the perceived limitations of our pasts.
