Psychotherapy deals with current problems. You may come because of a particular relationship issue or you may not be sure exactly what the problem is but find yourself repeating painful or limiting patterns in life. It may only be through talking to someone that you gain an understanding of what you want to work on. Therapy can be a gradual unfolding process where you have the opportunity to understand how you have become the person you are. This may include talking about how the past has influenced you, exploring your relationships then and now and the way you respond to your life as it is.

Are you feeling overwhelmed or confused by your feelings? Do you have things happening you would like to talk through? Do you have unresolved history you feel ready to look at and would like someone to support you in that? Counselling can help you to work through all of these things and help restore a balance to your feelings and life again. I have worked in depth with trauma, attachment issues, parenting difficulties, relationship problems, anxiety, depression, OCD and panic among many other things. I work as an integrative humanistic counsellor, which means I have been trained in a number of different ways of working.

I am a Relate-trained relationship counsellor. I have a private practice in Clifton, Bristol. I work exclusively with couples. Couples come for counselling for a wide variety of reasons. It can be a great opportunity to explore what is or is not happening in your relationship and to make changes that lead to your couple life being both happier and healthier. Additionally, some couples may come for counselling to decide whether it is right for them to continue in their relationship.

My style of therapy is humanistic and integrative. This means I am trained to blend different methods and approaches into my work as a therapist – tailored to the needs of each of my clients. My approach is based on a working partnership where you will be given the time and space to make sense of your experiences, thoughts and feelings; feelings which may be causing you pain, making you feel stuck or unable to cope with the world and the demands of human relationships.

Perhaps you are struggling to communicate your needs within a particular relationship in your life; or feel “stuck” in repetitive communication patterns with others. Perhaps you have been struggling with your own mental health, and are noticing how this is impacted by, and impacts upon your position in certain close relationships. As an individual, couple, or family, I can explore with you different ways of understanding and communicating about those things which may be troubling you. I believe that therapy can help us to tap into our own resources and solutions to problems which maybe feel more difficult to discover alone.

I am an integrative therapist specialising in using eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to treat a wide range of psychological issues. I am highly trained in psychotherapy, neuroscience and trauma and believe that our current issues can often be traced back to early adverse experiences in childhood. Compared to standard talking therapy EMDR generally takes a shorter amount of time to get to the root cause of the issue. Rather than just dealing with symptom management (like CBT), EMDR therapy works directly with the cause of your distress.

Hello, my name is Kayla! I offer in person and online therapy. We can easily fall into feelings of despair, anxiety and self sabotage when met with life difficulties on top of unresolved emotions or trauma. This can be overwhelming, but with the right tools and a safe place to process; patterns can be identified, repeating cycles can be intercepted and changed, improving your emotional wellbeing, relationships and quality of life for the better. If you are fed up, tired of being in a slump or just want to understand yourself better and see change, perhaps now is the time to start your therapeutic journey.

"I am fascinated about Humans' ability to heal their emotional wounds when they feel supported and accompanied on their personal path. We all have greater potential and resources than we think. A lot of the times it is difficult to access these, for various reasons. Therapy helps us explore the ways we relate to ourselves and others. It is a journey towards finding / becoming yourself".

The psychologist can help you. Count on the support of a professional. Many think that the psychologist is exclusive for mental illnesses, this is a myth, the psychologist works in several areas and uses the best and specific knowledge to help people to have an improvement, guidance or even a determination that generates doubts in several aspects of your everyday life.

I work with both individuals and couples. As an individual, some sudden event may have thrown you into crisis and challenged your ability to cope. This might include, a difficulty in a relationship; a loss/bereavement of some kind; or a change that has resulted in stress/anxiety and a feeling of being destabilised. Alternatively you may be suffering from a more general, on-going struggle to see any direction or purpose. A feeling of being disconnected from yourself and others and of there being very little enjoyment in your life.
