Hi, thanks for coming to have a look at my page. Here’s a bit about me and how I work. I welcome any questions; please feel free to contact me. I have spent most of my working life as a professional writer before training as a therapist, and bring a creative approach to my work with clients. Having been through a lot of life changes and had a lot of therapy myself, I believe in doing all I can to help make this available to others. I have particular interest/experience in working with women, emotional/domestic abuse, disenfranchised grief and living loss.

I work with adults, children and young people of all races, genders, sexualities, abilities, etc. I have worked in both the public and private sectors. In the public sector I have worked with people with cancer at MacMillan, with women with complex trauma at Swan Women’s Centre, and with children with anxiety (neurodivergent and neurotypical) in a primary school at Place2Be. I also have over seven years' experience of therapeutic coaching with people who are neurodivergent to accept themselves as worthy despite the internalised messages of unworthiness coming from an ableist society (in the UK, at least).

Life can present us with many challenges. The build-up of everyday stresses and disappointments, or the ability to cope with sadness and pain may at times affect your self-esteem and confidence levels. You may feel the need for support in addition to what you already have in place, which is when you may decide to seek the help of a counsellor. I run my private practice on Tuesdays between 10am-7pm offering remote sessions either by Zoom or telephone - please visit my website for more info. Contact me to arrange a free 30 minute introductory session to help you decide whether I am the right person to work with you.

If you've arrived here, you are already thinking about counselling. You might feel depressed, anxious or overwhelmed and finding it difficult to cope with the challenges of life. Perhaps you have experienced a recent loss, had a sudden change of circumstances or are struggling with relationships. Maybe you don't even know what's troubling you. Research shows positive change happens when there is a good match between client and counsellor. It’s difficult to choose a counsellor or know what to expect from counselling without having a face-to-face meeting. This is why I offer a reduced rate intro session of £15 where we can meet

It's not always an easy decision to come for therapy and you may decide to come to seek additional support for something that has been worrying you for a while or due to a current upset such as a relationship breakdown or bereavement. I am a professionally qualified therapist with over 15 years experience. The therapeutic relationship allows you the time and space to explore things that are causing you distress and/or anxiety. I can help you to explore your past and how it may help you to understand your current situation. I give you the opportunity to explore the way you are feeling and gain a more empowered sense of self.

I am a warm, compassionate person and experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor. We can all find ourselves in times of difficulty, whether in a time of crisis, feeling stuck in repetitive patterns, feeling disconnected, struggling to find meaning, or feeling like our true self has become buried. Counselling offers space to slow down and connect with yourself in the presence of another person, to be truly heard and to explore difficult thoughts or emotions. It can enable reflection on helpful or unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling and relating, and welcome deeper self-acceptance and self-compassion.

Hello, I am Sabine, a Psychologist and Psychotherapist in advanced training. I believe in what the therapeutic relationship could offer: a nurturing environment where you can talk about your difficulties. This can lead you to a deeper understanding of yourself and your worries, which can be the first step for real change. My approach is guided by the “I am OK – You’re OK”: people are born OK and can re-decide their own life. I believe that a person can change their dysfunctional relational and behavioural patterns, if and when they are provided with a facilitating and non-judgemental environment. Please enquire for pricing info.

Hi, I'm Kristin. I have been a counsellor for over fifteen years, and have been blessed and trusted with countless stories of the human experience. I consider it an honour and a privilege to help others purposefully and consciously connect with their own power. We all, at times, need support and guidance as we become aware of what we need to heal and attempt to navigate life’s challenges with authenticity and grace. It takes courage and vulnerability to ask for help; and sometimes it takes patience and commitment to find the right help. If you are curious to find out how I can help you…let’s chat.

There are many reasons for coming to therapy. Perhaps you have reached a point of crisis or perhaps you would like to understand yourself better. By acknowledging difficult feelings we can begin to recognise patterns of behaviour that are no longer helping you, or try to make sense of past issues that still affect you in your present. I can offer you a safe place in which to explore these difficult thoughts and feelings, empowering you to respond to yourself and others in a healthy way.

Our early relationships and environments can often lead us to over identify with and internalise the projections, expectations, and demands of others. Therapy offers a place for you to get to know and become reacquainted with your internal world. Over time, the therapeutic process may not only illuminate your conscious, but your unconscious narratives, to reveal a deeper understanding and connection with a more authentic sense of who you are in the present and how you relate to the world.

Hi I'm Zoe and I'm a qualified person-centred therapist specialising in child and adolescent mental health and well-being. I have extensive experience working with children and young people - by using creative techniques such as puppet/figure work, sand trays and paints/clay it allows me to gain insight into the child's world and identify areas they need support with when verbal communication is difficult. This in turn can help to build confidence, strengthen self-esteem and lessen anxiety. As a result children can find themselves in a better place to engage within the classroom, impacting positively on educational attainment.

A warm welcome to my page. I appreciate talking to someone can feel like a big step. My aim is for you to feel able to share what it means to be you in the world. To be comfortable enough to be able to bring all parts of yourself. Life can be complicated and heavy, and it can be rare to have a place where we can be truly honest. Rather than offering advice or guidance, I want to be with you as you explore your experience in the world. I bring curiosity and acceptance, with the aim of getting closer to understanding all of you. I am committed to working inclusively; I want you to feel able to share your experience and feel heard.

My name is Cathryn and I work as a humanistic therapist with adults in the Brighton and Hove area. I work with individuals who have come to therapy seeking to explore and make meaning of experiences and challenges that life has presented so far, and the difficult, often confusing feelings that emerge from these. My approach is to work with you to build a safe, trusting space from where your unique identity and experiences can be explored safely and honestly at your own pace. I respect and welcome the personal journey that has led you into the therapy room, supporting you with warmth and kindness as you continue this.

I am here to listen and to support you in exploring things that are creating challenges or distress in your life. Whether you’re struggling in a relationship, feeling worried, anxious, depressed, or experiencing loss I can help. Talking to a counsellor can help to stop thoughts circling around and around to alleviate feelings of distress and support you in working towards changes you want in your life by connecting or reconnecting with your own needs and feelings. Talking to someone who isn’t connected to what’s going on means you can explore thoughts and feelings without worrying about other people’s feelings or feeling judged.
