Are there parts of you that feel unrepresented, hidden, anxious, ashamed, angry, or judged by others? We aren't born feeling this way, have you ever wondered how you got to where you are now? My clients come to me because they trust I can weather the hard places we visit together. We need to be able to talk about the harder things in life, and I would like to offer you the space for this; a space of acceptance, warmth, and goodwill. Let's connect the dots of where you are now, how you got here, and work towards where you'd like to be. Please know that all parts of you are welcome with me. There is hope and there can be healing.

Welcome, my name is Helen and I am an Integrative Relationship Therapist, Couples Counsellor and Family Counsellor. Times of stress and uncertainty can compromise our emotional health. I provide a space where we can safely explore both our thinking and feelings, as well as look at ways of changing past repetitive patterns of behaviour that are no longer providing the outcomes we want. My aim is to be compassionate, empathetic and non-judgemental while offering a different perspective where necessary. Using this approach I strive to enable my clients to feel relaxed and safe in exploring any issues they wish to discuss.

Counselling and Psychotherapy can be a space to explore current or past concerns, desires and hopes. You may be wanting to get to grips with an aspect of yourself that keeps tripping you up or is holding you back in some way. You may be struggling with current losses, relationship difficulties, adversity, or have a sense of longing that you cannot make sense of. You may have experienced a sense of low self-esteem/ self-worth due to early experiences of being misunderstood or unaccepted for who you are or have experienced neglectful parenting or trauma or simply need a space in your life to figure something out.

At different stages in our lives, we encounter difficulties that prevent us from fully enjoying life. It can be anything from anxiety and depression, to the loss of a person (through death or relationship breakdown), to deeply rooted emotional issues (such as low self-esteem or inability to form relationships). Other times, we are unable to fully explain what is troubling us - we just know that something is. Asking for help can be difficult - finding the right kind of help and support can be more challenging. With each person and difficulty being unique, I tailor my approach to suit each client's needs and communication style.
