I am experienced in working with a wide range of issues including anxiety, low mood, school avoidance, difficulties with friendships, self harm and suicidal ideation.
I primarily work with children and teenagers and bring nearly 25 years experience in this area. I have specialist training to work with these age groups and use play and the arts alongside talking therapy approaches in my sessions. I believe the success of therapy is based on how well I can build a trusting relationship with individual clients and their parent/carer. I have worked in schools, charities, youth settings, and in private practice and bring these experiences to deliver the best support I can. I am also EMDR trained which is a specific therapy for addressing trauma and other difficulties.

I work with challenges that may arise for parents at different stages, including fertility issues and loss, gender disappointment, fear of birth, birth trauma, intrusive thoughts, antenatal and postnatal anxiety and depression, difficulty bonding. I support parents to adjust whether it is their first child or they are juggling a growing family. I believe that people are always trying their best to cope, but sometimes these ways of coping stop working as well or become problems themselves. I know how much pressure there is to be ‘perfect’ parents and how much strain that can cause.

I’m an experienced integrative therapist working with individuals struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, depression and relationship issues. You may feel that you are struggling with these issues alone and that you can’t talk to your partner, friends or family. You might worry that these issues keep repeating themselves and that you will always feel stuck. I work with clients to explore their current emotional concerns to understand underlying and often unseen issues. It is this process that opens up positive change.

I work with a range of problems including depression, anxiety, trauma, body image problems, visual difference, chronic illness, chronic pain, stress, burnout and life stage problems.
What would life look like if you were flourishing? Sometimes problems can feel overwhelming to the extent that we can’t imagine life without them. Starting therapy can feel both daunting and hopeful, and finding a therapist and approach that you feel comfortable with is key. As a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years experience helping people in distress, I work both in the NHS and privately, using a Holistic approach to care for the whole-being; mind and body to rebalance and heal.

I provide an accepting and empowering relationship, working collaboratively to explore what brings you to therapy, your hopes and your fears.
People come to counselling for many reasons; they feel stuck, lonely, lack direction or engaging in unhealthy relationships to name but a few. Whatever your reason for seeking counselling it will be driven by a desire/need to change aspects of your life that no longer serve you. Taking the first step to reach out for support can feel scary and overwhelming yet demonstrates a huge amount of bravery. I believe we all want to be heard, seen and truly accepted for all of who we are. Counselling can be a safe place to allow yourself to experience this, to accept you are enough, as you are.
