Often we overlook how much our lives are forever changing, maybe seeing ourselves as caterpillars that turn into butterflies once you become an adult. Whilst this may be how it feels for some, others may experience feeling more like a tree. They start life as a sapling being shaped by their nature and surroundings similar to humans, but as the seasons change and as they mature the changes happen frequently, bad weather can result in differences year on year, and each season brings differences too. Now thinking about your life, have you experienced something similar such as leaving school, life feeling simple with clear goals.

Do things feel tough right now? Maybe they've felt tough for a while? It's not always clear why how we feel starts to change over time but that uncertainty can get in the way of how we live, work and enjoy life. And then there are times when we do know and all we want is for someone to listen. Whether you're feeling anxious, depressed, grieving or questioning your own identity or sense of self you don't have to do it alone. I'm here to help you work things through, at a pace that suits you, and always with you're best interests in mind.

I am a neurodivergent affirming practitioner who uses an integrative model of therapy. In a nutshell this means that my practice is influenced by a variety of therapeutic approaches, this enables me to create a ‘tailor made’ approach for each individual. Influenced by my own experience as a late identified autistic person and parent to a neurodivergent child I am drawn to working with neurodiverse people or individuals who have neurodiverse loved ones.

If you are like most people, you are probably considering therapy because you want to change something. This might be the way you feel or behave; it might be how you believe other people see you, or how you see yourself. It might be things you think about or dwell upon, or the way you get on (or don’t) with others. Whatever it is, individual therapy provides a space to talk about what it is you want to change and to learn how to bring that change about. A space that is safe, confidential and non-judgemental. As your therapist I see myself as someone who can support you on all aspects of your life journey.

I wanted to give you a warm welcome and acknowledge your effort in taking this first step. It is not easy to start therapy; overcoming any fear you may feel, where to search, which therapist to choose… I would like to invite you to stop for a moment. Close your eyes slowly. Take a deep breath. How do you feel? Where in your body do you feel it? Sometimes life presents us with difficulties that can leave our world upside down. We can end up feeling anxious, depressed, angry, frustrated… Sometimes we just experience a lack of meaning and can’t connect with the life force that makes us feel alive.

I am a qualified counsellor and complementary health practitioner and tutor. I studied counselling and addiction at the University of Bath and I also have wide ranging life and work experience. Most of us can have times in life when it seems as though we can't cope and we may feel worried, fearful or confused. At these times it can be helpful to give ourselves the gift of speaking to someone who is not a family member or friend, someone we can be honest with, without fear of judgement or opinion.

Are you experiencing distress or dissatisfaction in your life no matter how hard you try? This may have been going on for a long time or perhaps you're left feeling out-of-control after a loved-one dying, a big change happening in your life, or maybe illness striking you or somebody that you care for? Perhaps nothing has happened, but you feel stuck and unhappy with your life and relationships? Are you exhausted taking care of others needs whilst ignoring your own? Whatever your situation you would like to find greater ease within yourself and have more satisfying relationships with other people in your life.

You may wholeheartedly wish to cut down or stop drinking and/or using substances but find it harder to do than you imagined. Problematic drug and alcohol use causes unhappiness – to you and the people around you. I offer online therapy for alcohol/drug problems, including treatment aftercare, recovery mentoring and relapse prevention guidance. Addiction counselling helps you understand addiction, strengthens your commitment to cutting down or achieving abstinence, and addresses the risky thinking and behaviour that can sabotage recovery. I've also helped partners and family members affected by addiction for more than 20 years.

Choosing a therapist can be a stressful process, and it's difficult to decide which kind of therapy to try. Many people find it helpful to work with a therapist who has trained in more than one therapy, who can switch to a different therapy when needed, and who can tailor sessions according to your needs. You can have a phone consultation with me to discuss what you are looking for and ask questions. 16 years experience in supporting neurodivergent clients (with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia or other difficulties) led me to further training in autism, and specialised CBT and ACT for ADHD and emotional regulation problems.
