Hello, I work with a range of issues, including anxiety and depression. Being heard and accepted for being who you truly are, can feel incredibly empowering. When this is taken away, our thoughts can trigger unhelpful behaviours, increasing low mood. Which in turn can play havoc with our emotions. When we feel lonely and isolated, overwhelming feelings can flood our thoughts and fears. I can offer you a safe, warm, and confidential space to explore any issues that may contribute towards your anxiety and depression. I am here to listen to you in an non-judgemental way, and to support you with any changes you wish to make.

Life can throw some really difficult situations at us and when this happens, it can be difficult to stay positive and cope with everyday life. I believe that counselling should provide you with an opportunity to explore any personal difficulties in a confidential, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. I am an integrative counsellor with a relational approach. My aim is to provide, a counselling space that is a supportive environment in which you will be given the time and space to explore, understand and gain insight into your unique situation. I have several years of experience working with young people from 11 years old.

I’m a qualified and BACP registered psychotherapist offering online sessions with individuals. My focus is on creating a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings. I believe in the importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients, and I work collaboratively with them to help identify and address their unique needs and challenges. My approach is relational, informed by both psychodynamic and person centred theories, which means that I draw from a wide body of theory, exploring how our pasts influence our presents, as well as what is happening in the 'here and now'.

When life events past or present become overwhelming, it can feel hard to cope with things alone & often hard to reach out to family or friends. If you are experiencing trauma & PTSD symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, flashbacks, panic attacks, anger issues, self-harm, low self-esteem, disconnection, shame, loss, isolation, we can work together at your pace to help you move through these feelings & behaviours. "Trauma is not what happens to you, it’s what happens inside you as a result of what happened to you. Trauma is that scarring that makes you less flexible, more rigid, less feeling and more defended." (Dr Gabor Mate)

Hi I'm Pauline, Sometimes life just feels to difficult or painful, you feel heavy hearted, deflated, depressed, anxious, lost, the light at the end of the tunnel is just not there to see and you don’t know how to make changes to feel different. In my experience having someone to talk to who listens, understands, and supports you, is the start to making the changes needed for you to feel different. To work on not only see the light at the end of the dark tunnel, but actually reach it and walk into it.

You may find the decision to come to counselling a difficult one to make, so I offer a phone call to begin with, to find out what you expect or would like to achieve through counselling as well as to reassure you, before we meet in person. Taking that first step may be daunting, so I offer a neutral, relaxed and safe space for therapy within the Aylesbury area. Having worked with Bucks Mind Charity, I have gained experience in working with depression, anxiety, stress, trauma and low self-esteem, working with clients of all ages.

Since I qualified in 2003 I have gained a lot of experience of working with individuals and couples. Expanding my practice to include the supervision of the work completed by other Counsellors. Many of my clients have experienced traumatic events in their lives, often suffering from stress and anxiety which is impacting their everyday life. By exploring such events we can reduce the impact they have on the life of the client, lower stress and anxiety levels. Self medication and relationship issues can be a common theme with many clients. By discovering the reasons why clients behave this way we can explore healthier life choice.

There are a lot of reasons why you might be looking into therapist right now. It could be that you feel as though you have lost yourself or are confused about who you are. Maybe it's a sense of feeling lost in the world or you're feeling overwhelmed, weary or confused. Perhaps relationships are difficult or you're experiencing pressures in life and they are starting to feel out of control. Therapy is a space to explore experiences and find ways to live through them with the bonus of someone by your side being there for you during that time. Sometimes you may not be able to put a name to what it is you are experiencing and that's OK.

I am an integrative counsellor and counselling tutor trained in psychodynamic, person-centred and CBT approaches. I offer both short and long-term counselling to adults in the form of face to face, online, phone and ‘walk & talk' sessions. Using an integrative approach enables me, with my knowledge and experience, to adapt my therapeutic model to suit my client's needs, enabling change in the most beneficial way possible. Underpinning all my therapeutic work is the knowledge that it is ultimately the quality of the relationship between client and therapist - that's you and me - that heals.

Do you want to feel happier? Do you suffer with anxiety, depression, feeling sad or low self esteem? Maybe you feel stuck and have lost yourself? Sometimes there is a specific reason and we know what is making us feel that way, other times it appears there is no reason at all. Counselling can help unpick whats going on, identify those thoughts and for it to feel less overwhelming in a safe and non judgmental way.
