Hello, my name is Cornetta and I am the mother of an adult child. I grew up in a difficult home environment and experienced ACE. I am often asked why have I been able to stay centred and grounded. I laugh and say “I have made lots of mistakes and I am human!’ Reflecting on this, I feel it’s my ability to listen, learn, and reflect but most of all to look at my life with compassion, acceptance, openness, and love. If you feel I can be of service and help please contact me and read some more. I am an integrative addiction therapist and psychotherapist. As a result of working in different settings,

Every therapy session will more than likely be a journey. Emotions run high because feeling and memories emerge that you may have not been prepared for so it's important that you feel comfortable, safe and supported. The therapy session should be a judgement free zone where you are listened to but also challenged while your boundaries are respected. You shouldn't feel the need to filter yourself, let it be your time for expression because that time is solely about you and how you're feeling. Not every session will leave you feeling emotionally raw because therapy is as much about your good days as it is your bad. Enjoy the process.

"Having walked a certain path, as a Christian, my Faith in God and leaning on Him has been the greatest pillar I ever held on to experiencing my own post-traumatic growth. However, I value individual differences, respect, diversity, culture, integrity, honesty and ability to find your own path, grow, connect and build an enduring relationship. I firmly believe individuals can be empowered to find their own solutions. I am aware I might not have all the answers or solutions, but I could give one or two suggestions. I am happy to sit with people who find themselves in a dilemma, stuck in difficult and uncomfortable situations".

Are you struggling right now? Maybe with panic, fear, general anxiety? Maybe your teenager is having difficulties. Are you struggling with Domestic Abuse? Would you like to explore the root of your problems and be in a better place? If so, I may be the counsellor you are looking for. Sometimes in life we all struggle, and it is important to recognise this and seek some self-care. Life for a teenager can be particularly difficult but an area I have worked in for 35 years. Counselling can seem like a very daunting experience and leave you wondering what to expect, what counselling could do for you or whether this will help you.

If you’re at a point in your life where you’re struggling, feeling low, anxious, or alone with your problems, I would genuinely like to listen, understand and help you find a way forward. It is not always easy to speak to those closest to us, especially if worried about how they might respond. You don’t need to be alone with your thoughts, feelings, or issues anymore. I will listen with compassion and really hear what it is like for you and work with you to help you see a way forward.

Hi, welcome to this page. There might be several reasons why you are looking to start therapy: Maybe you feel stuck and don’t know how to overcome a difficult situation. Or why the same things seem to be happening to you. Maybe you feel very sad and like you’re carrying heavy baggage. Stress might be a bit too much and you wish you could stop the race inside you. Maybe you just want to feel better. Maybe you are not sure, but you feel that all is not ok. And maybe all the above at the same time.

I use a collaborative approach with all clients during their assessment, evaluation and choice of theraputic treatments. There is no one therapy for everyone and it sometimes can take time to find an effective therapy. Taking an integrative approach allows me to utilise all my knowledge and training for whatever issues presented and adapt therapy to the individual client's needs.

I have over 19 years experience working with people - My clients come to me, when they feel overwhelmed, exhausted and in need of support - they can't manage their thoughts, relationships, behaviours alone any longer and they need someone to talk to in a confidential, non-judgmental way. Together we explore, unpick, understand and make changes, so that life can become more manageable, enjoyable and less exhausting. For me, each of my clients are individuals, and its about getting the right balance - seeing what works and what doesn't work for them, promoting change together.
