Sport psychology focuses on the mental and emotional aspects of athletic performance. It helps athletes enhance their performance through various techniques and strategies. My philosophy of practice is based around acceptance and commitment therapy, using a holistic approach, non-judgmental and supportive. I support athletes to reach their full potential, what ever that means to them. My experience spans 7 years, working with the world’s top athletes from multiple domains (strongman, golf, SBD, wrestling, football, darts etc.. and I trained to become a BASES Accredited Sport and Exercise Scientist (specialising in psychology).
Sport psychology enhances athletic performance by improving mental skills such as visualization, concentration, and self-talk. It also aids in stress management through relaxation techniques and mindfulness, helping athletes handle anxiety. Additionally, sport psychology can assist in setting realistic goals to boost motivation.
