I see children and young people aged from early childhood up to 19. I also provide parent guidance and consultation. The children and young people I see come for a variety of reasons including (but not limited to!) trauma, anxiety, self-harm, social difficulties, attachment related difficulties, eating disorders, depression and family conflict. I have been working clinically with children for 13 years. I have recently started my own private practice having worked for many years in the Yale Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic for Children.
At the Yale Outpatient Child Psychiatric Clinic for Children I specialised in working with young children and their parents, youth who have experienced trauma and adolescents facing the many challenges that being a teenager presents. I am integrative in training which means that I combine elements of psychodynamic therapy with some behavioural interventions.
I believe that all behaviour is communication and it is my job to help understand that behaviour and from there change can take place. I approach all clients with empathy and a real desire to understand their experience.
