Is your child going through a challenging time and needing some extra support? I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (MBACP) for children and adolescents specialising in using play and the arts within sessions. I am based in Norwich, Norfolk and offer in-person sessions. I work with clients 4-15 years experiencing challenges in their daily life for various reasons; these might include low self-esteem, trauma, anxiety, difficulty relaxing and feeling safe, relational difficulties, bereavement, loss, and behavioural concerns.
Through using play, story, and image work, a child or young person can use what is often their natural way of communicating, without relying purely on talking. Creative methods can also provide a tool for a child/ young person to explore and make sense of difficult experiences and feelings without feeling exposed, and in a way which feels safe to them.
As a child-led therapist I will come alongside the child/ young person where they are currently at, supporting them to grow and process their experiences at a pace that feels manageable for them, and providing a sense of self-empowerment.
