Welcome! I am a clinical psychologist and a TA psychotherapist (transactional analysis). I work with a variety of psychological challenges but I am specialized in working with individuals struggling with eating disorders (bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, binge-eating disorder). The individuals I work with often come to therapy having tried many behavioral interventions that brought little change (being more disciplined with their diet, exercising more/less, creating plans etc.).
It is not surprising, as eating disordered behaviors are not a matter of discipline, but a matter of emotional regulation. In other words, they are a symptom, the tip of the iceberg. I’d like to help you reach behind the symptom level, resolve blockages and get back in touch with your body and its natural signals.
When you reach this point, food will no longer be an enemy nor the sole focus of your attention- you will have freed space for feeling, wanting, connecting and experiencing life more fully. I pay great attention to the relationship with the person I work with and combine elements from different therapy approaches in order to best suit their specific needs.
