Dr Dorothy Tait (also known as Dr Dot) has over 12 years of experience in the NHS delivering psychological interventions to adults struggling with their mental health. She is experienced in assessing, understanding and treating a breadth of diagnoses and psychological difficulties, ranging from mild to complex, in various NHS mental health settings around the UK. Dr Dot regularly works with people who struggle with Complex Trauma, PTSD, Addictions (drug and alcohol use, eating disorders, etc), Anxiety, Depression, Low Self-esteem and Self-confidence, Shyness, Social anxiety, Burnout and Grief / Bereavement and Self-harm.
Dr Dot is highly qualified with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) from the University of Edinburgh. She draws on a combination of evidence-based psychological therapies, including Schema Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Dr Dot will help you to explore and understand why you are struggling in your life/ relationships. You will work together to change any unhelpful patterns which are keeping you stuck. She will also help you to develop coping tools which aim to empower and build resilience to create a richer, fuller and more meaningful life. Dr Dot delivers therapy remotely.

WELLNESS IN THE WILD: ‘Time to Connect’ - This retreat day is all about connection, meeting like-minded people and maybe pushing yourself out of your comfort zone a little, ultimately helping to improve your mental, emotional and physical health using the outdoors as a tool. Includes yoga, mindfulness, psychology workshop, a walk, uplifting stories and Q&A with the hosts. We run these retreats at Aberfeldy, Perthshire 4 times per year.
