I am a BACP Accredited Person-Centred Practitioner and Supervisor with more than 20 years experience and 20,000 hours of clinical practice. When we are thinking about accessing counselling therapy, it can be tricky to know how to proceed especially if we have had a poor prior experience or if this is a new venture. Practitioners need to be mindful that each person is an individual snd need to feel valued as such if they are to find - through therapy - what it is they would like to achieve for themselves. It can be difficult to know what we may want from this process but, often having such a want is enough to spur us on.
As a Person-Centred Practitioner, my job is to provide therapeutic support to people of all ages in accordance with the provisions of Person-Centred Therapy (PCT). My website can offer further information about this therapeutic approach. No two people are the same and we prosper through being individually validated.
If you are thinking about engaging in counselling therapy you may be justifiably hesitant about doing so. This is both a normal and reasonable approach to take.
