Hello, my name is Clare. I offer counselling, psychotherapy, and art therapy with a compassionate and trauma-informed approach. Whilst working with trauma is my main interest, I also work extensively with depression, anxiety, self harm, suicidal thoughts, grief, abuse, violence, lgbtq+ issues, autism and ADHD.
A trauma-informed approach means that our therapeutic relationship is an important foundation on which to build safety, emotional regulation, and a safe space to explore the things affecting your life. This way of working explores how trauma is stored in the body and how it continues to affect thoughts, feelings, behaviours and relationships.
Bringing awareness, with kindness and curiosity, allows us to understand how we think, feel, and behave the way we do, and offers us choices to make changes for our emotional well-being.
