Hello! I'm a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years experience of providing support to people who are experiencing anxiety, mood or stress difficulties related to a physical health or neurological condition, including cancer, persistent pain, stroke, acquired brain injury and medically unexplained symptoms. I feel passionate about helping people explore what it means to “live well” with their condition and develop skills to manage the tricky emotions, thoughts, behaviours and relationship changes that can arise. I also support people who have experienced trauma, including difficult early life experiences and PTSD.
I understand how difficult it can feel to meet with a new therapist for the first time. My hope with every client is to offer a space that feels warm, empowering, and safe enough to discuss the things that feel most difficult. I use several models in my work, including Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT and EMDR.
In terms of “style”, I’m not a fan of jargon or lengthy silences- I will offer you authenticity, compassion and genuine respectful curiosity. I am all too familiar with the juggle of family life, which is why I offer evening and online sessions in addition to face to face.
