Searching for the right counsellor can feel daunting. How do you know which one to choose, and who you will be comfortable with? It's a big decision. Let me tell you a little about me and the way I work. I am a dedicated and compassionate psychodynamic counsellor, a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC). I believe that our past experiences shape who we are today and that by uncovering and understanding unconscious behaviours and choices, we can gain insight and self-awareness, and light the way for future growth.
Psychodynamic Counselling is not about giving advice or setting targets, but about providing a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings in a way which will help you understand yourself more fully.
The therapeutic relationship should be one in which you feel comfortable sharing whatever is on your mind, without judgement. It is important that you feel that comfortable with your chosen therapist and that Psychodynamic Counselling is the right modality for you.
