My approach is a psychodynamic one, which means that I will work collaboratively with you to try identify patterns in your life that may feel unhelpful or which are causing you distress. We might think about how your past is affecting you in the present. I aim to give you the space to express all of yourself without judgement. Here are some of the things that I can help with: depression, grief and loss, struggles with feelings of guilt or shame, problems with relationships and intimacy, anxiety and stress, low self-esteem or self-image, difficulties with identity and belonging and navigating life transitions.
I work psychodynamically which means that I aim to work with your unconscious mind as well as your conscious thoughts and behaviours. The aim of this work is to broaden your understanding of yourself and, with this insight, to help you to live a richer and fuller life, freer from anxiety and depression or from trauma which has been with you for a long time.
I have trained for over 5 years with 5 + years experience in specialist NHS psychotherapy departments and university counselling services. My training was inter-cultural and I am really interested in hearing from anyone who feel they might benefit from an empathetic and highly trained listening ear.
