Whether you're looking for help with a specific issue such as a phobia, situation related anxiety, pervasive low mood or generalised anxiety, or are just looking for someone to hear and understand your difficulties with compassion and skill, my 20 year experience of working with all kinds of people, with all sorts of life issues has equipped me to witness, understand and help with your distress. I qualified as a psychodynamic psychotherapist 6 years ago and have a core training as a mental health nurse. I am also an EMDR therapist, and as a result, I can offer therapy that is responsive to your needs. I am trained in Reiki too.
I offer both short term (dynamic interpersonal therapy) and long-term psychotherapy. These therapies are designed to help a person understand the underlying cause of their difficulties by having their story heard, interpreted and understood. I use EMDR as an additional tool to help a client process and recover from traumatic experiences.
I am passionate about helping people to improve their lives, in whatever way they wish. I work collaboratively with the client and take time to understand the origins of their distress, before together creating a course of therapy that improves insight, reflection and self compassion in order to pave the way for change.
