Hello, I'm Andrew and I'm an integrative psychotherapist. What do I mean by integrative? Well, it has been reliably shown that there is no overall 'best therapy'. What works for one person does not necessarily work for another, even if their issues are similar. You might have heard about psychoanalysis, person-centred counselling, or CBT. These are just a few of a number of therapeutic approaches. Each type of therapy offers different potentials for change. For over forty years now there has been a movement towards integrating these approaches to better meet a person's individual needs.
Figuring out which therapist to work with can be confusing. You might be asking yourself whether therapy can help and who the right therapist is for you. Arranging one-off meetings with a few therapists can be a good way to start the process. To help you with this, I am clear and open in the way that I work, and charge half my fee for the first meeting.
I have provided counselling and psychotherapy for more than ten years across a range of contexts in the NHS and private sector, and currently offer private short- and long-term therapy in central and north London. I am a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and British Psychological Society (BPS) and follow their codes of conduct and ethics
