Counselling and psychotherapy can seem mysterious to many clients, at first. My aim is to clarify the process and make it as accessible and collaborative as possible. My approach is integrative; every client is different, has different needs and therefore we work together accordingly. I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment where it will be possible for you to explore your concerns with relationships, work; anxiety; depression; bereavement or other emotional difficulties with the aim of rebalancing and empowering you.
Initial contact is usually either by email or telephone. I will invite you for a half hour session, free of charge, to decide what therapeutic approach would be beneficial to you and to explore some goals for the work. You will normally have completed a questionnaire prior to this meeting which will give me further information with which to work.
If we decide to go ahead, we will meet on a weekly basis, usually at a pre-agreed day and time. I would normally expect you to commit to an initial six sessions of work, after which time we will review what progress has been made so far. We can decide to commit to a further set of sessions or, if the work is more complex, agree to an open-ended contract.
