I believe it is impossible to "have the ideal Client", as my experience has shown me we really don't know where the story is going until you build up the connection and confidence between you and your client. I always focus on making the clients feel that they are in a safe place and that this place is for them. It is also important that the client and I are open and honest with each other, in order to avoid any misunderstanding between you and the client with regards to their needs and the best course of therapy that is required. I have found that the more ownership and input the client has during the sessions the better outcome,

Counselling and Psychotherapy, but in order to offer a better service within the rural area I live in I have furthered my experience by getting further qualifications in the following areas of counselling e.g. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (as a Therapist), Bereavement. I offer a listening ear, non judgemental and empathic service.
I have found that the better two communication that exists in the sessions the more productive they are. The basics of active listening, reflecting, allowing for silence goes a long way in enabling the client to become confident in order to allow himself explore his/her inner thoughts and concerns.

"A Listening Ear"
This is a group where people can contact for a "chat" and feel safe from not being judged or being labelled in any irrespective of what their problem. Looked on as a "virtual drop in centre". I have found that when people realise that they are not on their own and that their are other people in the same type of place it can sometimes have the effect of a "troubled shared". It is always good to talk.
