About

Donalee Markus, Ph.D., earned her doctorate from Northwestern University. She began her clinical practice devoted to cognitive restructuring in 1983. Donalee Markus and her Designs for Strong Minds™ associates have been maximizing intelligence for individuals and corporations such as Los Alamos National Laboratory, McDonald's, Quaker Oats, the United States Federal Court System, and NASA. An innovative program of exercises, Designs for Strong Minds uses game-like, context-free exercises to filter out emotional influences, which allows the participants to work solely on cognitive skills.

Dr. Markus’ cognitive restructuring treatment is featured in detail in The Ghost in My Brain, by Professor Clark Elliot, a chronicle of recovery that provides a window into the tremendous power of the human brain and offers new hope to those suffering from concussion and other brain traumas.

Dr. Markus is the author of Retrain Your Business Brain: Outsmart the Corporate Competition, which presents original visual perception and context-free puzzles that can change the way employees integrate information. The puzzles help employees work smarter, not harder.

Dr. Markus is also the author of Cognitive Rehabilitation for Mild or Moderate Posttraumatic Head Injuries, published in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinics of North America (Volume 18, Issue 1, Pages 109-131).

Dr. Markus has also developed a suite of mobile applications designed to build neural networks that create new patterns of behavior. Think of these puzzles with a purpose as cross-training for the brain. These mobile applications are available under Strong Mind Puzzles at the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
