David Russell, Ph.D., is an Evaluation Scientist at the Center for Home Care Policy & Research, Visiting Nurse Service of New York. Dr. Russell conducts studies to evaluate the outcomes and effectiveness of new initiatives at VNSNY. He has published widely in the areas of health care quality, medical sociology, psychiatric epidemiology, and social gerontology. Prior to joining the Center, Dr. Russell was an NIMH Postdoctoral Trainee in the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, & Aging Research at Rutgers University. At the Institute, he examined the ways in which community and household context shape risk for mental health problems among older adults, including depression and loneliness.
