Caught in the same repetitious habits and thought patterns sometimes

I love a good burger! I crave it every now and then, that incredible bun I buy from Cobs Bakery, the special top-secret ingredients I add to my beef, topped with bacon, cheddar and
mayo.....mmmmmmmm! For many people with ADD, we are challenged with getting caught in the same repetitious habits and thought patterns sometimes. For example, the same bacon-cheddar-mayo burger I always have. Our brains become use to one way of doing something or thinking and it closes the door on so many other possibilities and experiences. I've posted before about trying new things and thinking outside the box. Repetition has its place and can be valuable, however it can also box people into one way of thinking and acting too.
It's important to make a change some times, it gets the brain circuits firing and the brain has the ability to retain these new experiences & lessons. Recently, I decided it was time to do something different. Yes, it was time to change it up, and not have my beloved bacon-cheddar-mayo burger! On this day, I would boldly dare to go where no man had gone before, burger experimentation....the final frontier!
The BBQ was warming up, the burgers were made and this time I had created a new super-topping. My Greek burger was born!! The Cobs bun is non-negotiable, my toppings included a mix of spinach, feta cheese, tomato, olive oil, salt, pepper and lemon juice. The anticipation built as the the smell from the BBQ wafted around my backyard. Finally, my new burger experience had arrived. It was a mighty fine burger, a new experience and a great lesson on how we all need to step outside our comfort zones every now and then.
