Hiu spends time between Paris and what is colonially known as Vancouver, Canada. In Europe, Hiu works with English speakers and those who are looking for a more holistic and decolonial approach to psychotherapy. As an immigrant settler, Hiu is experienced in working from an Intersectionality-focused lens with predominantly people of the Global Majority with different neurotypes who identify as queer and have ongoing relationships with grief. People who have historically benefitted from therapy include those who work in healthcare (doctors and medical students have reported meaningful therapeutic & consultative work with Hiu).
Rooted in social justice and anti-capitalist values, she practices in an Intersectional Feminist-Narrative, trauma-informed framework, and incorporates somatic techniques and EMDR when supportive. Hiu’s personal experience as an East Asian immigrant, expat, and mental health professional trained in Canada together inform her unique offerings and style.
Trained in Somatic Attachment and Feminist Narrative Therapy, Hiu privileges a person’s survival story and relationships to their agency, emotions, boundaries, and people. She is thrilled to bring her experience and skills to work with clients based in Europe.
