Sandstone is a licensed private residential treatment facility dedicated to acute medical withdrawal management (detox) services and residential treatment for substance addiction and mental health disorders. At this boutique facility in the heart of Calgary, we offer patients powerful treatment that works, with a high level of one-on-one attention. Our clinical team is skilled at treating more complex cases, including those with medical needs co-occurring with substance use disorder. Discrete and comfortable, Sandstone is designed to allow you to focus entirely on getting better. Both private and public spaces are warm and welcoming and provide the room you need to recover—without distraction. Sandstone has programs specially designed to treat patients who: are struggling with substance use disorders and need detox, stabilization, psychoeducation, skill-building and relapse prevention; are struggling with depression and anxiety disorders; may have more complex medical needs and could benefit from more personalized attention; appreciate a small therapeutic community and private environment dedicated to lasting recovery.

Continuing support for ongoing success

Support from Sandstone does not end once you step out the door. Ongoing recovery requires ongoing care. That’s why one year of aftercare, an important part of relapse prevention, is included for all eligible Sandstone patients who complete treatment. Our Aftercare programs are in place to help you transition safely into your everyday life even after graduating from treatment. With the combination of groups and a lifelong alumni network, we want our alumni to feel a part of the community even after leaving our facilities. To reinforce the change of continued recovery, and for those who require more intensive care than occasional counselling but do not require an inpatient stay, our Outpatient Services offer both in-person and virtual treatment programs through EHN Online.

Aftercare is a weekly group focused on the unique needs and experiences of individuals in their first year of recovery/sobriety. Topics are driven by group members and range from reintegrating back to work and family life, to issues pertaining to grief/loss, self-esteem and working through cravings and triggers. This group is open to individuals who have completed an inpatient or outpatient treatment program and are committed to maintaining recovery.

Family members of individuals struggling with addiction or alcoholism are often negatively impacted and experience increased stress and even physical illness. Our Family Program is open to loved ones of any patient participating in an inpatient or outpatient treatment program. With the understanding that inpatient care is not appropriate or practical for everyone seeking treatment for addictions, EHN Sandstone Calgary offers a unique outpatient program to meet the needs of those who wish to participate in intensive addiction treatment while maintaining their daily commitments to work and family. Programming is flexible with evening and weekend sessions to accommodate busy schedules.
