“I used to think that the brain was the most wonderful organ in my body. Then I realized who was telling me this.” (Emo Philips) Often our brains are wonderful! Also, wonderful brains do not stop us from having concerns or problems. Sometimes we are in the position of knowing some things, and also feeling and behaving in different ways - perhaps ways that are negative, not helpful, or destructive. The people I work with have a wide variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, addictions, relationship issues, challenges with “getting going”, specific problem behaviours, as well as other issues.
I am a registered psychologist with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I have worked in health care for over 25 years in inpatient/hospital settings, outpatient settings, clinics, as well as private practice. I have worked with a very wide variety of people. Therapy must be tailored to fit each person. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental, respectful space.
Research shows that the “match” or “fit” between the therapist and client is extremely important. I provide therapy using a variety of different conceptualizations and models, depending on what is helpful to my clients. I invite you to contact me to see if we are a good fit so we can address your concerns together. I look forward to meeting with you.
