My approach to treatment is client-centered and strengths-based. My relationship with my clients is based on a shared vision for progress in therapy, non-judgment, and mutual respect. Do you have the sense that there is underlying pain that is preventing you from fully enjoying your life? Often, our unhelpful patterns originally evolved as strategies to meet needs, and to protect ourselves against overwhelming distress. My work aims to help you more effectively meet the needs behind these old, perhaps outdated strategies. Some of the issues that clients come to me for help with are: personal growth and alignment with life purpose; emotional regulation; emotional intimacy; anxiety and panic attacks; self-worth; and grief and loss (personal and collective).

Does your appearance or relationship with food consumes your day to day? Do you often worry what others think of you? Or rarely feel like enough? I support clients who struggle with body image, anxiety, and self-esteem. I know it can feel impossible to not care about what others think. And... what lies on the other side of is true peace and freedom. In an effort to be who we think others want us to be, we end up shrinking ourselves and our lives get smaller as a result. It's my hope throughout counselling you learn to feel comfortable taking up space, regulate your emotions and anxiety, and experience more of life.

I draw from a range approaches depending upon your needs and preferences. Among them are cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal neurobiological ideas, family systems therapy, and attachment theory. It is common for clients to arrive with issues identified only to discover that there are other deeper and more fundamental issues which underlie them. I work at a pace compatible with your ability to integrate change. I am gentle and encouraging, but firm and forthright. I provide a free initial consultation so you can determine whether you feel comfortable with me. My aim is for you to feel welcome, safe and comfortably challenged.

I work with clients who are curious about why they behave the way they do, and want to explore those patterns. In our work, you can expect a relaxed, calm environment - whether online or in-person, where my 6 yo black lab, Ajax, will join us. My goal is to help you feel as comfortable as possible: fidgets are available, eye contact is optional, and we go at your pace. I strive to create a safe space where you can trust me to support you as we dive into deeper and more challenging areas, while also recognizing the intersectional systemic factors that may be impacting you. All communities, bodies, and backgrounds are welcome.
