I am passionate about working with older adults as they navigate addressing challenges arising in their lives. I fundamentally work from attachment-based approaches, recognizing the immense impact of our early childhood experiences, traumas, and ruptured relationships throughout our lives. Working with older adult, senior, elder, or geriatric individuals is important to me as loneliness and emotional distress highly correlates with early cognitive decline and negative physical health outcomes. Through looking at the impact of our emotions on our well-being, we can create space for meaningful, secure and safe relationships.
I specialize in the following for older adults, caregivers, and family members: Burnout, Trauma and PTSD, Family Dynamics, Depression, Anxiety, Cognitive Decline, Grief and Loss, Life Transitions, Loneliness, Social Isolation, Chronic Illness, Self-Esteem, Substance Abuse or Dependance, and Relationship Issues.
I am excited to be able to reduce barriers and offer in-home in-person counselling to individuals living in retirement or senior homes in Calgary, Alberta. I also offer virtual sessions for individuals, couples, and families throughout Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
