DBT Skills Group - Adolescent
In our DBT skills group for adolescents, we teach the following skills: Distress Tolerance (surviving crisis situations without making them worse), Emotion Regulation (improving management of emotions over the long-term), Interpersonal Effectiveness (achieving your goals in relationships), Mindfulness (improving control over your attention and activity of your mind), and Walking the Middle Path (navigating difficulties that come up in adolescents and their families). Each adolescent attends the group with a parent/caregiver, ensuring that their family environment also learns how to support the adolescent in skills use.
