My hope is I can be a support person to all my clients, create a space of safety, calm, and acceptance, with the goal of helping individuals feel whole.
Feeling exhausted, burned out, and frustrated with life's ups and downs? Not knowing who you can talk to about these challenges? Whether it is from parenting, work, school, life, or a combination of them all, I know how hard it can be when things just feel like they keep piling up with no end in sight. Juggling multiple roles and feeling like you have no time for yourself is a battle many of us are facing. Both my personal and professional experiences give me the tools to help clients facing these struggles and I would love to connect and see how I can be a support to you, your family member, or family during these stressful times.

Picture a sacred space of human connection that invites you to make room for the complexity of emotions and healing in relationships. In our sessions, I invite you to cozy up with a warm cup of tea, slow down, and reconnect with yourself, practicing self-acceptance through exploration. From a place of gentleness and curiosity, I aim to help you navigate the thoughts, feelings, and sensations that seem too big to carry alone. Because, I believe that healing begins with the permission to embrace our messy, imperfect selves. I also offer trauma-informed movement & yoga classes and group therapy.

I use evidence-based techniques from Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) and Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) to guide you in healing your nervous system, to increase mindfulness, and to make changes aligned with your values and beliefs.
I'm excited to now offer in-person sessions! Life is beautiful and can be full of challenges and stress. I specialize in helping individuals gain deeper self-understanding and to learn strategies to feel more grounded and connected with life. Trauma is a human experience that we have all faced. If left unhealed, we may feel triggered in our daily lives and feel out of alignment with ourselves. This could manifest as: anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, avoidance, and unhealthy relationship patterns that can prevent us from feeling our best. We are capable of healing, and my passion is facilitating this journey.

On the outside, you are a professional/executive who has everything! Yet, on the inside, you struggle with anxiety, impostor syndrome, overthinking, feeling stuck and defective. You even feel guilty and "ungrateful" for being dissatisfied with your life, and for not spending enough quality time with your loved ones. In fact, you feel lonely at times. You can tell that your work life is negatively impacted by your difficulties; your biggest fear is that one day, you will lose everything you worked so hard for, and that you will never achieve the work and personal lives, as well as the romantic relationship, you yearn for.

As an Occupational Therapist I work with people who feel stuck and reconnect them with their purpose and meaning in their life. I understand the mind-body relationship. I work with the inner child, trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, ADHD, and OCD. I have a deep appreciation for how the nervous system regulates to process emotions and trauma. I know from both personal and professional experience, when someone is held in a room filled with safety, compassion and curiosity there is growth in one's mind, body, and spirit. This leads to integrating healthier beliefs and a more satisfying engagement in one's world.

I have 10+ years working with clients experiencing anxiety, mood disorders, school refusal, friendship concerns, navigating family relationships, suicidal ideation/self-harm, and sexual/gender identity. I have worked with adult and youth clients with these concerns, along with relationships, infidelity, and parenting. As humans, it is not uncommon to sometimes find yourself in a position where you feel lost, frightened and all alone. I am here to support you in whatever way you need, whether it's to identify the roadblocks, redefine your identity or embrace your true self, this can be achieved by working collaboratively in a safe, respectful, empathic environment where trust is fundamental to the process. I work with clients from diverse backgrounds where cultural sensitivity is prime.

Life is challenging and difficult at times. It can create distress that affects every part of who we are: our thoughts, feelings, physical well-being and spirit, upsetting our ability to be effective with ourselves, others and manage the demands of our daily life. When we decide to reach out for help, we are acting courageously. Particularly if we do not have the energy or believe that things can be better. I am passionate about helping people. I work to understand the world from your point of view and help you gain a sense of balance and confidence to make positive changes in your life.

How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?

The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?

Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?

A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
