Suzanne specializes working with anxious and active youth to improve emotional identification, regulation, and communication skills. She has an interest in supporting the parent child relationship. Suzanne believes in a child centred approach and aims to build connection, belonging and trust through play, activity and creation. She also knows relationships are a necessary foundation when working towards desired goals. First sessions are always booked in office but getting outdoors with youth is a natural transition in Suzanne's practice. There is so much to be learned outdoors!
Using Adventure Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Suzanne works with youth on skills such as, anxiety regulation, cooperation, understanding natural consequence and problems solving. This involves activities (games, walks, art), reflection (conversation about) and application of experiences to everyday life.
Strength based and trauma informed Suzanne is compassionate, attentive and understanding. Feel free to inquire about a 15min phone consultation Suzanne is happy to answer any questions.
