I have recently joined forces with Psychology Matters as Director of EMDR Therapy and Business Operations. This position allows me to continue to focus on the trauma therapy work for which I have a great passion, as well as collaborating with the Psychology Matters team to meet the greater needs of our community. Having worked in this field for 17 years I've gained a deep appreciation for the influence of our early development on our present ability to cope. With this and the framework of EMDR I am witnessing amazing growth in the people that I am working with.
I received a college diploma in Child and Youth Work which ignited a great passion for facilitating well being. I have a degree in Psychology which lead to an appreciation of theory. And I have a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, which honed my skills and integrated my prior schooling into a therapeutic process.
Finally, I have received a certificate in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), which together with all the other therapy tools in my repertoire, allow me to meet the needs of the individual to create the most successful therapeutic outcome.
